Les frères Cailloux — Restaurant in Bordeaux

I have never been treated in such a way in my life in a bar/restaurant. We arrived at 14.20 and asked if we could order some coffees; we were told that the kitchen was closed but coffee was fine. First blunder was that we wered denied ONE glass of water. Second, he refused to take our payment separately (a common thing to do in France) and the worst was him raving about us taking a table too long, being fussy to pay and "bothering" him. The owner/co-owner tried to apologise in the name of the bistrot but even then he barged into the conversation raving again....

Good place to stop for a quick beer/wine etc. The first stop in Bordeaux for me and my wife. We were touring and saw this in the square and just decided to stop for our first drink of our holiday. We sat inside - it's quite small and basic but good ambience with music playing in the background. The old lady serving was very helpful, despite my basic grasp of French! I did not feel welcome from the off! I am British of west indian decent Barbados to be exact! My experience can only be described as shocking after being shown a seat by waiter ....the owner..just before the meal...requested i move seat from the front to a back seat...really not sure why...itvwas done quite rudely....so myself and partner left sobif you're anything like me i'd def givevit a miss..........!!!!!!!
