This restaurant provided the worst dining experience I have ever had. I ordered a dish called "Inspiration Végétale," and to my horror, it was served with actual dirt in it. I even swallowed a large chunk of dirt before realizing what it was. This was beyond disgusting and completely ruined the meal. When I brought this to the staff's attention, it took an infuriating 15 minutes to receive a half-hearted apology. As if that wasn't bad enough, when the bill arrived, the owner had the audacity to question the presence of dirt in the dish, insisting that the salad was pre-washed but not inspected. They begrudgingly agreed not to charge for the contaminated dish, which was the absolute minimum they could do given that it had ruined the entire dining experience. However, the owner's attitude was shockingly rude, telling us "not to come back" and sarcastically commenting, "or how to avoid paying for a dish," despite the fact that we had paid a bill totaling over 85 euros. This level of disrespect and poor hygiene is unacceptable. Avoid this place...
Read moreCame on Sunday, when quite a few nice restaurants were closed. Saw a rating of 4.3 (now wonder where it comes from) and decided to have a dinner there. I normally don't eat a lot of meat, but being in France you kind of have to. So, I have chosed "12 hours lamb". And was told it was finished (at 7PM). Asked if that starter which I didn't understand in French was like carpaccio. The waiter said yes. I got a pile of fried meat, which was not bad (not carapccio), but given that I ordered beaf for the main course hoping for a light carpaccio starter, I decided to take half of the "carpaccio" for takeaway. The waiter told me that they had to containers for takeaway. I gave up on the starter and was anticipating my main course - high quality beaf that cost 32 euros. I was surprised they didn't ask how to cook it (rare, etc). And what came at 32 euros were overcooked pieces of some sort of meat. See the photo. For an upscale restaurant charging 30+ euros for a main course this is...
Read moreThe food was remarkably bad: we had the octopus and it felt as if it was just pulled from the freezer and boiled (tasteless and unbelievably chewy). The tuna tataki was also not much better. The waiting time was also too high, particularly considering that the restaurant was not that busy. It used to be the case that the food here was quite good: we have eaten at this place numerous times as we lived in Fontainebleau for three years, so I should qualify my review by stating that it's influenced heavily by our last experience. (And as a side note, the prices have also increased a lot, even when accounting for inflation...) the silver lining was that the server offered to remove the charge for the octopus - I appreciated...
