Nestled in the heart of Cannes, France, Le Saint Antoine is a charming bakery that offers a delightful mix of fresh pastries, sandwiches, and quality coffee. Its prime location makes it a perfect stop whether you’re strolling along the iconic Croisette or exploring the charming streets of the city. The inviting ambiance, with its warm décor and the irresistible scent of baked goods, sets the stage for a great experience.
We chose to sit outside, where the February weather was very cold, but the sun added a little warmth, making it a pleasant experience.
We tried the chicken sandwich, which was served on fresh, crispy bread with tender chicken and just the right amount of fillings. While it was enjoyable, a touch more seasoning or a signature spread could have taken it to the next level.
For dessert, we indulged in a vanilla treat that was light, creamy, and well-balanced in sweetness. It paired beautifully with the two coffee lattes we ordered, which were smooth and had a rich, well-rounded flavor. The coffee was strong yet not overpowering, making for a satisfying sip.
However, the staff was not friendly enough and made me feel rushed to choose quickly, which took away from the relaxed café experience. A more welcoming and patient approach would have made a big difference.
Given the fantastic location in Cannes and the crisp winter air softened by the sun, the setting was lovely, but the service could be improved. If you’re looking for a good bite in a beautiful spot, Le Saint Antoine is worth a visit, but don’t expect the warmest...
Read moreI visited this place after it was mentioned by our Windstar Cruise Chef. I was completely insulted at the blatant refusal to serve me while at the counter. There were 3 young women, 1 was attending to another customer and the other 2 were being elusive. I waited for about 10 min, after a woman I was with asked them if they had beignets. At first, I wasn't certain I was accessing the situation correctly, so I asked another woman I was with, who was sitting at the table by the window, if she was witnessing the same thing - she confirmed. I am a African-American woman, the women I was with were White-American and Asian/Hawaiian-American. During the waiting period I got a bottle of water and began to drink it. After it was very clear they were not going to serve me, I went to the register, where all 3 were huddled. They walked away, I ended up just leaving the 2 euros on the counter. I told both of the women I was with I wasn't going to buy anything. The white woman I was with, went to the counter and got served. She also made statements to the young lady about their disrespectful behavior.
Note: the women I was with were...
Read moreFood was just ok. Their plat du jour was not impressive at all, bland rice underneath some overlooked chewy seafood and a huge blob (size of a softball) they called calamari (looked more like a stuffed cuttlefish head, not small calamari). My husband almost couldn't stomach the last few bites. Seems nice and fresh though, but the chef is lowsy at cooking. I had mushroom risotto and it was waayyyyy over cooked; had a texture like mushy rice and was not worth the price we paid. They use cheap mushrooms for it, so you're not getting your money's worth at all. Advertise free wifi, but when you ask, he would rush through telling you the router name, speaking too quickly for anyone to understand (native French tongue or not) and set a menu at in front of you for the 'password'. The only decent thing here was a nice clean restroom and a heater above you to keep you warm. Not a fan, you can find other places well worth your money just by walking further inland and away from these...
