We live in Cannes and I used to live on this street, but never ate at this particular restaurant very much. We hadn't been there for many years so we decided to give it a try again, at a very busy time of year, perhaps that was our biggest mistake. The food was decent, no real complaints, nothing extraordinarily special, but pretty good. The service however, was terrible. We arrived a bit early for dinner so we thought we would take our time having an aperitif, at this point the restaurant was maybe 10% full. We were constantly being asked if we wanted to order, we told her that we would like to enjoy our drink and then order some wine and food. She did not like that and continued to come over to us every couple of minutes to see if we were ready to order. So we finally ordered so she would leave us alone. The food came out very quickly, so we were finished eating sooner than we expected. We continued to drink finish our wine but she kept coming over to ask us if we wanted dessert. Finally I asked her if she was in a hurry for us to leave because she was rushing us, she actually had the audacity to say yes, that she can make more money if people would eat quickly and leave. This is something I've never experienced here, it's a part of the French culture that I love, you never feel the need to rush so they can "turn tables". It completely ruined our dining experience, I am fairly sure that we will not be back, there are way too many nice restaurants to choose from on...
Read moreWe booked in the morning by person obliged to choose the second round at 9pm. When we were asked if we preferred inside or outside, we choose to eat on the terrace. Ones we arrived, they told us to come back in 15 minutes, therefore we took a walk and then came back. The French blonde woman waiter, who didn’t speak English, parked us for more than 45 mins on a table inside telling us that "lets chill and be relaxed since you are on holidays". After, she asked us if we would like to order something to drink, telling us that our table would be free in a little time, since the previous costumers were finishing their dessert and about to pay. They didn’t even bring us nothing to snack on or drink (bread and water!). While waiting all this time, they never told us how much time we would have to be wait. We asked this information many times, and they kept giving bull**it, as they were About to set the table and so on. Also we asked the waiting time to a different waiter in english and italian and he told us to ask again to the lady who only spoke french. So we tell him that we have a communication issue with the staff but he does nothing about it.After 45 mins we decide to leave and while exting they try to keep us there STILL IN FRENCH. The only positive thing was the apologies of the young blonde guy waiter who following us on the street told us that casually right at that moment the...
Read moreHad a dinner on Saturday night, going for a meat based menu. Very satisfied by the food and quality. Fish soup very delicate, tartare de boeuf, prepared French/Italian style with meat, slices of parmigiano, a bit of balsamico vinagre and no egg and no mustard, was very tasty and in a generous portion. As main course we went for a rib eye steak, very juicy and tasty, served with potatoes, salads and 2 sauces. To finish a tris of ice creams (vanilla, passion fruit and mango) were nice to be shared and complete a nice dinner. Only negative point is on waiter, very rough and unprofessional in serving out 3 glasses of wine: instead of pouring a little quantity and let us try and confirm the choice, he was distractedly and roughly filling our glasses… leaving us speechless. He was not even recognising our surprise (he never crossed our sight) and left the table in a rush with his bottles. Speechless. Pity: the restaurant deserves a better rating, but service was below the level of all the rest. Recommended to book the day before. Prices adequate to the level of the...
