First the good! The way they cooked the steak (in our case, we had the Ribeye) was fantastic, almost had a charcoal smoke infused into it. Truly, you didn't need a sauce. The Eggplant salad was a great start, absolutely packed with flavor!
Now the room for improvement: The menu is a bit odd, would be nice to have some other starters, maybe oysters, or some other warm dishes, it just felt strange. We had a Bass (Bar) fish which was cooked very much on the rare side, while I don't mind too much around that, others certainly won't be as forgiving. Finally the bread given to the table wasn't good - it was some sort of chewy ciabatta style - just contract with a good boulangerie and get fresh baguette and this would go way up.
The wine list needs major help. Some by glass choices but with VERY high price points 15 euro + for .1 glasses?!? Means you choose a bottle, but for France, there was a small selection with high price. Disappointing.
Service got better but initially started off way too fast, asking to order right away is a mistake, and then they kept speeding...
Read moreFrom beginning to end, the experience was perfect. We had an Italicus Spritz and a Gin & Tonic cocktails. They were perfectly made. There was an aperitif (free) with a ricotta stuffed bread … that was also amazing. The spicy oil with it was perfect. We ordered the Tagliata de Boeuf and the special of the day which was a Seafood spaghetti. (Mussels, prawn and langoustine) Everything was delicious, exceptionally well made, perfectly salted and fresh. Too full for dessert so we ordered espressos and they were also great.
I have to admit I was surprised by the amazing service. In France, the service can be slow, lacking, or overall difficult to get attention of the servers. This restaurant was super attentive, the server realized I dropped my napkin before I noticed and replaced it, they replaced our jug of water without asking, and many other small details that they fixed or replaced.
We will definitely come back another time and would recommend anyone in Cannes to go here for a high...
Read moreAfter seeing the good reviews we reserved a table here , firstly the gentleman on the phone was so polite and accommodating. After arriving we were greeted with some toasted bread and olive tapanade which was delicious and a menu from which I wanted everything! Always a good problem! The meal was the best I have had in a long time , my boyfriend said ever (cote de boeuf and risotto)! And this was made ever more enjoyable by the staff who were so personable and hilarious including the chef who works in an open kitchen so we could see him preparing the food , he also came out from the kitchen at the end of the meal to ensure ever guests meal was ok! Such a lovely touch! Massively recommend! (Ps I was also pleasantly surprised by the bill which was only 50 euro more expensive than the meal I had the previous night which was by far the worst I've ever had and didn't include dessert)...
