Amazing Korean Japanese gem in Cannes!
Clean , aesthetically pleasing little restaurant and outstanding service serving traditional Korean and Japanese dishes
My partner and I went for lunch to dokebi on a Wednesday afternoon in Cannes and wow!! From start to finish our meal was delicious. We ordered the salmon flambé roll , shrimp tempura roll, ikura sushi pieces and salmon belly nigiri topped with black caviar. All sushi was of high standard the fish was fresh and cut to perfection. The chef presents each piece like art . Each bite was perfect and satisfying enticing us to try more and be amazed with each piece. We additionally ordered the Korean dishes bibimbap that is as authentic and flavorful- served in a hot stone it was a pleasure to find such a gem in this part of the Côte d’Azur. My partner enjoyed the japchea which also was also memorable and tasty.
It was a pleasure dining in such an establishment and we can’t wait to come back and try more.

Read moreDokebi is outstanding! We were pining for Korean food after traveling for several weeks, and we were overjoyed to have come across Dokebi.
We had the specials—including a delicious clam (바지락) soup—along with stir-fried pork (제육볶음), sashimi bibimbap (회덮밥) and several pieces of chutoro, which were all fantastic. The chutoro was served with a mild wasabi mix that was exquisite. Definitely recommend asking about or checking the board to see what’s fresh. We also enjoyed some soju and Hite beer, and were impressed that they had somaekjan (쏘맥잔) cups for mixing the two.
On top of that, the staff was super nice; Susan, in particular, was very kind and had great recommendations. We’ll definitely be returning on our next visit, and would highly recommend to anyone looking for Korean food, excellent fresh sashimi, or just a good...
Read moreThis Korean restaurant has seen a change of hands since last year. Food here isn’t as good as before. We ordered the Beef Bulgogi which arrived overcooked and dry. Feedback with lady boss and she said that, when served in a hot stone, the beef gets cooked very quickly. In this case, shouldn’t you undercook the meat and let the hot stone continue to cook the meat(?) Goes to show that this is one place which doesn’t appreciate feedback. The gyoza came looking deep-fried rather than pan-fried. Every seems to be over-cooked. The japchae was so overcooked that the mung bean noodles tasted starchy. The ingredients of a few slivers of meat, onions and bell peppers were pathetic! Its good business owes to its location. Apart from this, there is nothing to rave about. Not...
