The location of L’Oustau de la mar is truly exceptional, and several of the dishes we had during the meal were genuinely enjoyable. Unfortunately, the experience was overshadowed by the way a specific issue was handled.
I had ordered my meat cooked medium, but it was served very well done. When I raised this politely, the server, a bald man with a black beard , responded in a surprisingly dismissive and unprofessional manner. He explained that a “foreign woman” earlier in the day had complained about her meat being undercooked, so he had decided to cook mine well done as a precaution. Not only did this explanation feel inappropriate and oddly personal, but it also made me feel unfairly stereotyped and disregarded.
To make matters worse, the replacement dish , this time cooked medium, was, quite frankly, the worst cut of meat I’ve ever been served.
It’s a shame, as the setting is beautiful, and the rest of the meal showed promise. But the way I was spoken to left a lasting impression that I wouldn’t expect in any professional dining environment, especially not in a country where I’ve experienced such consistently high standards of hospitality...

However, this was by far the most embarrassing display of french cuisine and an absolute insult to all the chefs that cook french cuisine.
We ordered the table d’hote that included an appetizer and a main.
The appetizers where edible. My best way to compare it would be airplane food on economy… its not really good but if you’re hungry its tolerable.
THE MAINS, was a full on nightmare. We ordered all the mains available from the steak, the fish and finally the gnocchi… imagine absolutely butchering every single dish that was served on the menu.. if i was on death row and ordered a steak as my final meal and this certain steak was presented i would pretty much commit suicide on the spot..

La qualité du service est catastrophique et est à revoir d'urgence au niveau de l'attitude de l'une des 2 serveuses (l'autre étant également loin d'être irréprochable). Elle parle avec un ton dépité, le visage crispé et ceci avec "tous" les clients attablés, on a l'impression de la déranger. C'est simple, je n'ai pas relevé un seul sourire sur le visage de cette dame durant mes 2 heures de présence pour aucun des clients. A un moment de nouveaux clients se présentent à l'entrée et lui demande s'il reste de la place en terrasse, mais n'entendent pas bien la réponse de la serveuse qui adresse ensuite une remarque à sa collègue "ils savent pas lire sur les lèvres ou quoi". Devant cette demonstration médiocre j'ai eu la curiosité de regarder les autres avis google de cet établissement et j'observe de nombreuses critiques sur l'attitude du service, mais aussi de la mauvaise foie dans les réponses du propriétaire de cet établissement.
