Went for a fast trip to Nice in december.. weather were poring down with rain and we had no umbrellas and just dropped in because the food looked good from pictures googled before.. Man, we were surprised. The service were superb and both the drinks and food were so good we came back a couple of days later. Our waiter remembered us and even some of the drinks we had before. They noticed my gf taking pictures of the food and asked us if we needed charging or wifi code.. this were just extra and keeping up with the time (even though I'm still kinda shy about pitcutes). Weeks after the first visit we still try to make their burrata dish at home and we'll never just do it basic.. their burrata is just the best so far we ever had. Then on the second visit I had to have their tartar.. and though we all have our favorite it perhaps won't be your #1 I feel that you NEED to taste it. The meat were so good. The highlight and the downfall of this were their signature cocktails... we tried them and they were great and fun to explore.. extra points for the bartender who didn't go easy on the volume or the spirits... the negative part were that we didn't have enought time to get through the whole menue.... if going back to Nice we will go back 100%. The restaurant were (in our opinion) a cross between Berlin and France.. industry but homy.. I guess it would be even better if the weather would be nicer. But all and all... food were good. Drinks were great and the service... oh, I just hope that the server from our first visit have an extra paycheck (we think she went off clock during our visit because we didn't see her when we left). She totally destroyed the stigma of "french people are rude at service" within 5 minutes. Price: From where we come from (Sweden) the price of drinks were kinda the same, but the food were worth it with good sizes and easy to share.. PLEASE go here if you are in Nice. We WILL come again if in Nice and we WILL perfect their Burrata dish at home!

If you’re visiting Nice, France, Renée is a must-visit culinary gem that seamlessly blends exceptional food with an enchanting atmosphere. Nestled in a charming setting, the restaurant offers a unique dining experience elevated by live music. The evening we visited, the live singer captivated us with her incredible voice and warm demeanor, even encouraging the crowd to join her in heartfelt renditions of songs in both French and English. Her charisma and responsiveness added a magical touch to an already delightful evening. The menu at Renée showcases creativity and impeccable quality. For starters, we enjoyed the beef tartare served on brioche with black truffle, a dish that delivered tender, well-seasoned meat of the highest quality. The cheese croquettes with jamón and black truffle, while delicious, lacked a little of the depth of flavor we anticipated. However, the rosti topped with butter-poached lobster and soft-boiled eggs was nothing short of spectacular, offering a rich, indulgent combination of textures and tastes. For mains, the ribeye Black Angus steak, ordered medium rare, was cooked to perfection—beautifully seasoned and paired with crispy, flavorful fries and a luscious peppercorn sauce. The pork dish was also expertly prepared, showcasing the chef’s attention to detail and commitment to quality. The cocktail menu is another highlight, featuring inventive creations like the truffle martini and the souvenir cocktail, which came with a personalized Polaroid picture, adding a playful and memorable element to the evening. From the attentive and accommodating service to the delightful ambiance and flawless execution of dishes, Renée stands out as a top-tier dining destination. It’s an experience that’s as vibrant and soulful as the city of Nice itself. Highly recommended—a perfect 10/10.

Renée is an upscale restaurant on the main beach strip in Nice, France who pays no consideration to any sort of allergy or dietary restrictions. My partner has a severe tree nut allergy, and we know going to Europe where all varieties of tree nuts are very common that we have to be extra careful when choosing a place to dine. We chose Renée because we were able to make a reservation ahead of time where they had a box to write in to indicate if you had any allergies or food restrictions. I of course noted that my partner has a severe tree nut allergy. When we arrived at the restaurant we made sure to also tell our waiter that he had a tree nut allergy. He seemed to understand and be somewhat receptive. We ordered the duck with the mole sauce per his recommendation. Their mole sauce is made with some form of tree nuts which was not indicated on the menu nor communicated to us by the waiter. Naturally, my partner started to have an allergic reaction after eating a few bites which caused him to have to go to the bathroom force himself to vomit to avoid anaphylaxis. His face, throat, and tongue became severely swollen and he had hives all over. Luckily, this reaction did not turn into full anaphylaxis though we were prepared with an epi-pen. After I was able to flag down the waiter, he was very defensive when I asked if it was possible if there was any sort of cross-contamination, which was my first instinct, he said I should have told him that the allergy was severe! The manager eventually was able to tell us that the sauce contained nuts of some kind.

The fact that we were directly served nuts, and it was not even a cross-contamination situation (which we were always prepared for and aware of this risk just being in Europe) is beyond unacceptable. Please train your staff to be knowledgable on ingredients in all dishes, and if they are unsure to please double-check. The lack of attention to detail for a deadly allergy was alarming and deeply disappointing for the price-point. The duck and drinks were taken off our bill, but we still paid for the remaining main course and appetizer, even though we did not finish, as we needed to leave as soon as possible to get the reaction under control. Would obviously never recommend this establishment as they are grossly negligent in their dining...

We reserved a table 2 weeks before valentines day and asked for a sea view table. We were sat right at the back of the restaurant with no view. I don’t know if this is because we wrote in English but there were plenty of spaces with sea views and we were taken to the back of the restaurant where we could not see the live singer or sea view.

We ordered truffle pasta - the sauce was tasty but too thin and did not go well with the extra large rigatoni pasta and came luke warm. The mains took an hour and a half to arrive which is unacceptable. The mash potato was delicious but came cold. The vegetables were bitter probably because of the oil used and also came cold. We got the entrecôte medium well but it came very bloody with LOTS of fat. This same meat was cooked again for us and still came back very red, bloody, with fat and cartilage attached and the meat was tough and unenjoyable. The tiramisu tasted ok but the lady finger biscuit was still crunchy and not fully soaked. We ordered a souvenir cocktail which was delicious and came with a polaroid photo which was a nice touch. We also got a bottle of red wine which was nice too. We got sparkling water and asked for lemon but our waitress despite writing this down forgot - not a huge deal breaker as we are all human so can forget but the service was generally really slow and we could not catch her attention to ask again.

To be honest, we left hungry and unhappy about the experience. The only positive was the lovely waitress Eva who spoke great English and introduced all the menus to us. We were given a handwritten postcard for valentines day which is a lovely touch from the restaurant and I could see this restaurant had good intentions to provide a nice valentines day experience but the food was subpar. Apart from the service, we would not be able to recommend the restaurant. Especially at this price 170€ it will be...
