Took my 3 children here after a visit to Sacre Coeur. I don't know how anyone could say that the portions are generous. They are absurdly small. My rigatoni pasta dish had a grand total of 18 small pasta noodles laying sadly in one layer across my plate. It was so small I had to count them just for the comic value. Thus, my entire dinner was consumed in 6 bites. I suspect they downsized us because we ordered off the Price Fixe menu. That three-course "deal" (which is described on the menu) looked fair enough, included a drink and a dessert. Each of us in our party of 4 ordered it. The waitress was annoyed that we were ordering the price fixe menu, and begrudging said "Fine, we can do that." as if it was some huge accommodation to let us order it. Then came the comical small portions. This was our punishment for ordering the price fixe menu. I was so annoyed I called another waitress and asked point blank if they downsized our meals because we selected the price fixe option. She denied it and claimed this was the normal size. The pasta dish was so small it formed a single layer of noodles across the plate. We also asked for bread, and she claimed "they don't have bread." We noticed several other tables with baskets of bread. Another lie. After eating our meals, which took about 30 seconds, my kids were still hungry, not surprisingly, and I called the waitress back and told her we wanted to order another entree to split because the portions were so small. She smirked," Fine, I will give you a pizza to share. Will that make you happy?" (Direct quote). I said that would be fine. Imagine my surprise when I got the bill and she deliberately charged me a la carte for one of the price fixe meals to run up the tab, so that the total of the bill was the exact sum of 4 price fixe meals plus one pizza! Thanks for "giving" me the pizza, lady. I suppose she thought she pulled a fast one on us. She didn't I just didn't feel like arguing with her. Unscrupulous and...
Read moreFood was delicious to be fair but we had to wait forever before anyone came to ask us for our order or ask if we wanted dessert and the interior really needs a refresh. Also and that was the highlight: I ordered yogurt ice cream that I knew I could have as it is pasteurised but asked for the fruits to be removed (as risk of toxo when you are pregnant). It came with cream which was not written on the menu... so I asked if it was pasteurised too as I could not have it otherwise and the answer (in the rudest way you can imagine) was 'well how should I know, we buy it in bulk at the supermarket, you should really have told me when you ordered', how was I suppose to know you were going to put cream on it when it is not in the menu... We asked for an invoice without the details at the end as we were paying. We thought she was not done as we had not received what we asked for. After a min or so the waitress basically asked what we were still doing here... well waiting for the invoice you haven't given us yet... Rude Rude Rude and unfortunately can't give her the benefit of the doubt, this is not a cultural misunderstanding, I am french and...
Read moreTried this Italian spot in Montmartre — the food was pretty good! My partner’s dish was great, and they were super nice to swap my pasta for veggies, which I appreciated. My meat was a bit too chewy though.
Service-wise, it could’ve been better. The staff didn’t feel very welcoming or friendly, and they weren’t really attentive. They didn’t even walk us to the table, just pointed his finger to a spot inside. They forgot to serve us water and we had to ask for it on a super hot Paris summer day. To be fair, it looked like only two staff were handling a full restaurant, so they were clearly overwhelmed — but still, the overall vibe could’ve been a bit more welcoming. A bit more care would’ve made the experience much better. A smile or a bit more warmth would’ve...
