Au doux raisin is a little and quaint restaurant/bar located in a lively and student district near Pantheon. You'll be charmed by the rustic settings and amused by the knick-knacks laying here and there. If you are up for home-made (and French/local products as stated in the restaurant) cuisine, that's the spot to choose along the street where options are not lacking. We chose escargots (snails) and ham as starters and we were not disappointed. Both starters with breads (still warm) were the perfect and tasty duet. For the mains we had the confit de canard (duck confit) and boeuf bourguignon (stew). While the confit was a bit dry and bland, the boeuf bourguignon was too salty. The portion size was gigantic. Cheeses were delicious (try them with jam) and ice cream was a nice way to end the meal.
Overall the service was attentive (probably the owner was not very helpful and let the waitress deals with the customers). Price-wise, that's definitely on the high end side. Food was unequal but the starters save the day. My take:...
Read moreWe came here on our first day in Paris after seeing Pantheon. It’s a small cozy restaurant with only a few tables. We ordered a few dishes to share:
escargot was so flavourful, it blew our minds. This was the best snails I have ever hard. foie gras - delicious!! bone marrow - unlike other places, they didn’t add a lot of sauces and etc. onto the bone marrow, but the taste was so fresh and delicious that you didn’t even need anything else. Amazing. beef stew - this was very tasty but we couldn’t finish it so we take it to go. sausage - probably my least favourite but still very favourful.
Our server Olya was amazing, always checking up on us and making sure we were happy! She gave us a lot of recommendations which turned out to be amazing. She speaks French, English and Russian, which is a great asset which made communication and ordering very easy. Overall, this restaurant is a must visit for anyone who is looking for...
Read moreI loved this place and highly recommend it to anyone looking for a classic French cuisine experience. We had several very classic French dishes and every one was incredible. Escargot, bleu cheese and gingerbread bake, roasted bone marrow, duck confit, and beef tartare! The confit came with the most heavenly garlic patties and the tartare came with potatoes au gratin. The only thing I wasn't wild about was the tartare but I think it's because I wasn't expecting it to have pickles in it - it was still beautifully done. Oh and we had the drink special of the night that was a strawberry cream and champagne - so delightful! And our server, Bernard, was so lovely! This was exactly what I was looking for in a classic French meal experience. Thank you, Bernard and Au Doux...
