When you come to Paris you have to come to get blessing from from Sainte Genevieve Information 👇 Geneviève was born in Nanterre around 420. At the age of fifteen (years old) she was consecrated and devoted herself to the service of God. She spent the rest of her life, in the City of Paris, in prayer and penance. Her aura was immense. She decided that a basilica should be built on the tomb of Saint Denis, the first Bishop of Paris. Whenever the Parisians suffered from war or starvation she became known as « the mother of the nation in peril » In 451, when Atilla threatened to attack the terrified inhabitants of the Seine valley, she conforted them, She succeeded in saving the Parisians from starvation, by going up the Seine as far as Champagne, to find provisions. In later life, she became a friend of King Clovis and Queen Clotilde. Her relics are kept in this church of Saint-Etienne-du-Mont on the Montagne Sainte-Geneviève. Saint Geneviève is the Patron Saint of Paris. Her feast is celebrated on January 3rd Saint Geneviève protect us ! Saint Geneviève pray for us ! 20 C 1600 ans SAINTE

Place Sainte Geneviève in Paris is a charming, historic square nestled near the Panthéon. It’s known for its peaceful atmosphere and beautiful architecture, with the impressive Sainte Geneviève Library standing prominently. The square offers a mix of academic and cultural significance, making it a lovely spot to explore for history lovers and those seeking a quieter side of the Latin Quarter.

A beautiful church that seemed to have most of its lights off aside from candle light, which really added to the mood of the place. When I went there was a massive storm so people rushed in. A lot of chairs so it’s a nice place to take a break and maybe meditate or pray.
