A terrible experience. Went there on a sunday after reading about the restaurant participating in the “coquille st jacques” (scallops) week in Paris. i got there at noon. restaurant was just opening up and owner said he had nothing to offer but a platter of cheese. so i reserved for wednesday evening and explicitly said i was coming for scallops. he said no problem and wrote it in some agenda he had. i called day off, confirmed i was coming for scallops and said I was bringing a friend. Again he insisted that was fine. we show up at 7, first of all, he didnt offer a wine tasting, which supposedly as a wine bar, he advertises. ok, i order a glass of wine then we ask for the menu. we get the menu, and right off the bat he says three of the dishes he doesnt have, leaving only 2 choices and a soup. ok, i wanted scallops so i ordered that as did my friend and we ordered one each of the two dishes he said he had. he then proceeded to bring out one scallop each. i was surprised, and said, anymore? he said, try it and u can order more. we cooked our scallop on the little burner it can on and loved it and asked for more. well, guess what, he ran out. had exactly two left for one other table. now to give your perspective of the situation, we were only 3 tables in the restaurant. So basically he had none. When i asked how could that be especially since i had called and confirmed that i wanted scallops. he apologized and said sadly he had ordered too few.
The guy who owns/runs the place is an idiot and wasted several hours of my time getting there, calling, etc and didnt even have the nerve to tell me when i called to confirm at 5:30 that he had 4 scallops for his clients.
wine i had was nothing to write home about and he didnt even offer a tasting. an absolute farce. dont advertise something you cant offer.
avoid at all cost. he has nothing to offer on menu other than a cheese or a charcuterie platter. none of the other items...
