Note: Owner lied in his reply to this review - we were given no options, just a "take it or leave it". Read this review for exactly what happened!

If I could give this restaurant zero stars I would.

We visited on a quiet weekday evening with many empty tables. My friend's elderly parents requested a sofa seat indoors but were rudely told it was reserved. Later, my friend was seated on a chair too high for the low table. When she brought up the concerns to the server and requested nicely to change her chairs, he gave a patronising response and proposed for her to switch seats with me since I'm shorter - a rather odd reasoning. The chair was way higher than it should be and clearly was not meant for that table - it would have made eating very uncomfortable.

When we pointed out that there were other chairs around and if we could switch with one of those, the server insisted we couldn’t - He had a very dismissive “take it or leave it” attitude. And walked away after. I’ve never met a more disrespectful server. Even after switching among ourselves, the setup was still uncomfortable. We took it upon ourselves to switch the chairs with a table without a “reserved” sign - the same server came back and yelled at us not to do that, adding in a very unpleasant tone, “This is not your home.”

Mind you, the tables were mostly empty despite it being dinner time, and it’s not hard to understand why. Why would anyone dine in this place when the servers treat you like you owe it to them to dine in that place? I remarked that we were paying customers, and deserved to be treated respectfully as whoever else had that table and chairs reserved, and the server had the gall to tell us haughtily not to “be angry”.

The evening was utterly ruined - we left shortly after. Honestly we picked this place despite some of the bad reviews we saw on Google because it was nearby and I didn’t want her elderly parents to walk too much. But with so many great restaurants all around, there was no need to do that. We ended up having a lovely meal with no fuss and great service at Monte Carlo right opposite. I don’t care for service like that - I’d rather spend my money elsewhere.

P.S. The staff member in question looked Indian or Pakistani - only mentioning this so the feedback reaches the right person, as we didn't catch the name.

It might help to mention that we are an Asian family - I do feel that there’s a tinge of racial discrimination here because we don’t see the other fair-skinned customers there treated...

Came here on a Wednesday for lunch. Ordered grilled octopus, farm chicken and rib steak. The waitress nicely asked if we want the steak to be cooked in medium, we said medium rare. And it was well confirmed with the waitress. The grilled octopus was nicely cooked and we enjoyed it a lot. However the steak was cooked in well done instead of medium rare ( see photo). We asked one of the waiter nicely to confirmed if the steak was cooked in medium rare. The writer (who claimed himself as the boss of the restaurant) loudly shouted “yes it is medium rare, DO YOU WANT IT RAW?” We thought he was trying to make a joke. However, he repeated it 3 times “DO YOU WANT IT RAW? DO YOU WANT IT NOT COOKED?” loudly next to us. And at the end, he shouted “ DO YOU WANT IT COOK AGAIN?” We simply got terrified by his rude respond. His rude action completely ruined the lunch experience. We simply didnt have any more appetite and left the restaurant ( of course we paid for the bill). 100% not the right attitude from the boss. We found everyone in Paris has been very nice and reasonable (including everyone else in this restaurant, besides the boss). We are extremely disappointed about the attitude of the boss of this restaurant and DO NOT RECOMMEND this restaurant to anyone. We have attached the photo of the steak. And at the end, the boss came out and gave us a “GOOD BYE” - what he meant was really...

Do not come here if you are a tourist. The servers will ignore you. After being offered a table at the window, the host saw someone they knew behind us and sat us at the bar in order to give the table to his friends. What the heck? We called him over multiple times to order our food and he looked over only to ignore us and go to a different table. Maybe it was because we were foreigners, but the worst service I have come across is a long time. We had to ask for bread that was given to every other table. (Not that the bread really mattered it was the service part). DO NOT RECOMMEND IF YOU WANT TO EAT IN A GOOD MOOD.

If our decide to come here anyway, avoid the old balding man with grey hair. Wanted his name as he was our host/server but all I got...

Baroche has the look of a chic, modern bistro, and it delivers a decent overall dining experience. The food is fine — nothing particularly memorable, but competently prepared and nicely presented. The menu features familiar international favourites that are easy to enjoy, although it doesn’t stand out in a city with so many great options. The service is polite and efficient, but it lacks warmth and a genuine sense of hospitality. While everything runs smoothly enough, you leave feeling like just another table rather than a valued guest. Baroche works well for a casual meal in a stylish setting if you’re nearby, but it’s not a place you’d go out of your way for. A little more heart and personality in both the food and service could elevate the experience.

What a wonderful staff. Was greeted and seated as a single guest at a sweet table for one and so taken care of. My first meal in Paris and in a brasserie. I had French onion soup which was delicious and the plate of the day. Roasted chicken with mushrooms and rice. The chicken breast was cooked to perfection. Crispy skin very juicy meat. The flavor was bursting. I didn’t mind the rice was over cooked. That’s how good the chicken was. I only wanted meat anyway! My server, Magid was attentive, smiled a lot warm and friendly as was the rest of the staff. A perfect place to sit and watch life walk by. Even made small conversation with another couple sitting next to me…. Who felt the same.
