I frequent Paris and was excited to show my friend who was visiting for the first time the magic of the city. We were lucky as the weather in Paris was perfect. It’s rare to get a May this nice. After a bit of sightseeing and shopping, we were eager to rest and enjoy a snack. In pursuit to find an outdoor space near the river, we discovered Bistrot Alexandre.
Unfortunately, the kitchen was down and we were unable to order our desired snacks. Instead we ordered the only thing they were able to serve – roasted potatoes. In the spirit of warm weather and the cusp summer, we ordered Aperol Spritz.
I was bummed that we could not order what we wanted, but I had to give it to them, the potatoes were delicious. If you can only do one thing, might as well make sure you do it well. And that they did.
Jacqueline was our server. She was lovely and even offered to take our pictures. We had a very Parisian moment where she corrected our French and shared anecdotes of Americans struggling through French.
Overall, it was a nice experience and I would consider coming back when the kitchen is...
Read moreA nice place and environment. Last year, I went there with my friend, chose a table to order our food and I asked the waiter to do a favour and charge my mobile for me. Since I was a tourist there needed it to be fully charge to use the camera and google map. He refused to do so!!!! I asked again and he said I cannot do that. I asked the reason and he said " my boss asked to do not do that". I did not accept the NO answer specially for a restaurant that sells hamburgers for 20 euros. So I left the table and asked the guys behind the bar to help me with charging my mobile and they did it. I hope the "boss" reads my comment here. It is being very not service minded to treat your customers like that. You were lucky that I liked my hamburger otherwise could easily give you a one star grade due to the bad experience. If the guys behind the bar refused to help me, I would immediately leave...
Read moreWe made a reservation through Fork.com as indicated by this Google page, however that evening there was a privat event and the restaurant forgot to turn off the option to reserve a table. When we arrived, we were told to wait outside in the rain. For 15 minutes, no one came to collect us and more and more people arrived who had booked a table. Everyone was told to wait in the cold. Finally we had enough, annulled the reservation and went to the restaurant next door: Riviera, which I can fully recommend. I hope the restaurant learns from this and either stops using third party booking companies, or remembers to turn off the option to reserve a table when there is a private...
