This place is a complete let down. Before we arrived, it took them 2 days to reply after I have sent them a follow up email on whether my payment for the hotel room went through. The service we received while we were there was unbelievably bad, none of the staff recognized us even when I’ve stayed in this hotel for two nights. No greetings when we came back or went out, perhaps because we did not dress in any luxurious brand or maybe cause we are asians (except during late night and early morning, when they were certain we were staying in this hotel). And when we arrived at the hotel after our shopping, no one bothered to open our car door and helped us with our stuff. They did not remind us that there is no toothbrush in our room, and it took them at least 20 mins to bring us the toothbrush after we have called them for a second time. There was also so little space for us to hang our clothes in the washroom, and the bedside table was also very small. During the daylight savings time, they did not change the digital clock in the bathroom, which confuses us every time when we tried to know the time. When we dined at Jean Imbert, the food was great but the service needed improvement as well, they did not explain the menu to us, which is the first time at a fine dining restaurant, we had to request to have it explained. It also took us a very long time to get our food ordered, no one was at our service when we needed them. When we checked out, we specified what kind of luggages we left in our room, so they won’t leave any pieces behind when they transfer them to the luggage room, but the person who did our check out was somewhat annoyed and said just tell me how many pieces you have. Which is an attitude, again, not what I expected from this kind of hotel. All these might seem trivial but it’s all the details that differentiate a palace hotel from a three star hotel. I don’t think this hotel provided services that matches the price of it. I very much...
Read moreEvery year, my wife and I travel a lot all over the world. But one of our favorite places to visit is France, especially Paris. Last year we visited Paris five or six times, and every time we stay at the famous Plaza Athenee on Avenue Montagne. At the Plaza Athenee, we had the pleasure of enjoying one of the best hotel experiences all over the world. Starting from the valets to the reception staff, the concierge staff, all the way to the managers and directors of the hotel. Everybody’s extremely nice , proffesional and helpful doing there best in assisting you with anything and everything that you need. And every time they manage to surprise you with what they can do, going beyond with there assistance. No request is too big or too small for for them. You cannot go wrong in thinking Plaza has the best service! All of the staff that you encounter or you have a contact with is amazing! Just to name a few , there is Charles from Concierge who is a wizard in getting everything done perfectly, Lancelot who took care of us while having the most memorable birthday dinner celebration and of course, Madame Louise Prevost, which every time goes beyond any expectations in doing everything possible for every guests that she meets. And the best part of the Plaza Athenee hotel is that you don’t feel that you are going to stay at a hotel, you feel like you are going to stay with family in a wonderful French Palace! A big warm and welcoming family that greet you every time with a warm heart and a big smile. So if you want to visit Paris for the first time or are a returning Paris lover, definitely you should try the Plaza Athenee experiance, if you want to enjoy the best of what Paris can offer. For us, most definetly there is no Paris without the Plaza ! Thank you for all the fantastic moments and most of all, for all the...
Read moreWe have spent two nights at the hotel and we were utterly disappointed by the level of unprofessionalism of the hotel’s staff. To start with, we were given a very small room and asked for an upgrade. They lady that accompanied us to the room told us that we have been already upgraded, which we found a little bit odd as there was no way we booked anything smaller than that. She could have instead told us that they didn’t have available rooms in order to be upgraded, rather than literally lying to the clients’ face that there has been already an upgrade made. Secondly, the welcoming letter in the room was addressed to a different name, which is again, something very unprofessional to happen in a 5 star hotel. Another surprising factor was the crowd they gather at the hotel bar. After 11pm in turns into a little zoo, full of tables of promoters and almost teenager girls. A legit club, which obviously it’s not what you expect if you go with your partner or family to such a prestige hotel. There is a place and a time for everyone and that’s definitely not it! Once in the room, I didn’t have cotton pads in the vanity box for simply removing my make up. They had cotton buds inside the boxes that had written on them ‘cotton pads’. A little bit of a packaging malfunction, which came along the fact that we couldn’t even shower properly as the hot water didn’t work alongside the cold water. So you either shower with boiled water or with freezing cold water. At the checkout we have asked to speak to a Manager and address all the above issues. The lady handed her business card and advised to contact her directly as a future reference. That was all she could come up with after our experience at the hotel and after spending +3k for two nights. It goes without saying that we will never set foot in that...
