We just had the most AMAZING experience at Bombarde!!! My husband and I had taken the Metro hoping to get to another restaurant that had an incredibly long line and wound up being in a rough part of town - 2 hours later we wound up back on Montmartre where we were staying and were defeated and STARVING. I had Bombarde on my list of places to go and they had a reservation open at 9:30, so we jumped at the chance. Not 5 minutes after we arrived, my husband realized he left his camera in the cab - he had been documenting all of our honeymoon in Paris on that camera and was beyond devastated to have left it. He called up the cab driver and when he finally got through, the cab driver didn't speak English well enough to understand that my husband was trying to get his camera back. My husband asked our server to help translate, and our server, Romeo, so graciously and kindly got right on the phone with the cab driver to get everything sorted. I didn't want to delay the kitchen, so while my husband waited for the cab to return I ordered the eggs and potatoes with tazikii to start and then the duck and the tuna for the main course for us. The bread came out warm, the deviled eggs were AMAZING, and the potatoes with tazikii had a TON of flavor. My husband finally got his camera back and came in to have the appetizers, and our server, Romeo, lit all of the candles in the place for a romantic glow even though we were the only two there. Our entrees came out and they were fantastic - the duck my husband had was cooked to perfection and I had tuna that was perfectly rare, which was accompanied by a beautiful sauce, caviar and avocado. We told our server how grateful we were for his help with the camera and told him that we were on our honeymoon, to which he promptly told us congratulations and brought us two glasses of champagne to celebrate! What began as a horrible night, was completely turned around by Romeo and everyone working at Bombarde that night - I was trying not to show it but was in tears with how thankful we were. And beyond the amazing kindness of Romeo and the rest of the team, the food was truly fantastic - I am a very picky restaurant goer and it really was excellent! Thank you so much to everyone at Bombarde for such an incredible, special evening! We were way too full but will definitely be back for dessert...
Read moreWhere do I begin? Romeo, that's a good start. Bombarde, what an incredible human you have in Romeo. My wife and I who were married eleven days prior came to the restaurant at 09:30PM. Upon arrival, sheer panic set in when I realized I left my camera which had pictures from our honeymoon in the G7 taxi which dropped us off at Bombarde. I frantically called the cab driver in English (being from the States) who only spoke French (understandably). I quickly ran in to the restaurant where my wife was and asked Romeo if he could take my phone and ask the cab driver to return to the restaurant in hopes he would have my camera.
Without hesitation, Romeo obliged and the camera was returned within minutes.
My wife and I were absolutely blown away by this kindness which Romeo showed.
Romeo, thank you, from the bottom of my heart. I cannot thank you enough for your kindness. You are an example of the good left in this world.
On top of all the above, Romeo went above and beyond for my wife and I ensuring we were at ease once the camera was returned as we were both shaken. He dimmed the lights, lit all of the candles, played calming music, and on top of all this we had the best meal we've had in Paris (we've been here for eight days),
The deviled eggs? Best i've ever had. The potatoes with tzatziki? Out of this world. My wife's tuna? Cooked to perfection. My duck? Easily the best duck i've had in my life.
Romeo and Bombarde, thank you so much for turning our night around and making 06Aug2024 a night we will never forget.
