Café Chic — Restaurant in Paris

Extremely disappointed by the service here, specially from the director. I believe his name was Roberto? He charged us 16€ for water, and when I kindly said “sorry why is it 16€ for water?” And he said “you’re either drinking alcohol or you’re not. But it’s the same price either way” I said, “show me that on the menu?” And he said “it is what it is — you have to pay that.” He was SO rude. You don’t tell someone that after they order and drink. If youre going to change that insane price for water, either show it on the menu or tell us when we order. My friend ordered a drink and it was the same price.. as my water. Even though I can’t drink alcohol, he completely shamed me and made me feel ridiculous for ordering water. We told him he was being rude to us (he was yelling at us at this point), he said that being kind is not an obligation. Which is the most shocking thing I’ve ever heard coming from a manager in hospitality. Coming from LA — we are used to good service. And he was opposite of that. I said “do you own the place? Because I’d like to speak to the owner” and he said “not yet but soon”. Whoever owns this place, maybe reconsider his involvement. Anyways, the bouncers were very kind. I’ve never written a negative review before but he completely ruined our night by him yelling at us and making me feel stupid for getting a bottle of water because I can’t drink. J’ai récemment vécu une expérience déplorable au Café Chic à Paris, au point de déconseiller vivement cet établissement. Malgré notre commande de deux bouteilles de champagne, nous avons été expulsés sans ménagement, le personnel nous forçant à monter à l’étage supérieur, un endroit sans aucune ambiance. Le comportement du personnel était outrageusement impoli, notamment un employé français à moustache blonde, dépourvu de toute courtoisie envers les clients.

Le décor est vétuste et dégage une odeur désagréable, signe d’un manque flagrant d’entretien. Les canapés et chaises sont dans un état lamentable, troués et manifestement non remplacés depuis des années. Plus inquiétant encore, nous avons observé des souris et des cafards se faufiler, soulevant de graves préoccupations sanitaires.

Cette expérience n’est pas isolée ; d’autres clients ont rapporté des incidents similaires. Un avis mentionne une expulsion sans motif, qualifiant le videur d’« extrêmement grossier » . Un autre relate une mésaventure lors d’une réservation pour le Nouvel An, soulignant la malhonnêteté du personnel et la saleté des lieux .

Face à ces témoignages récurrents de service médiocre, de conditions insalubres et de personnel non professionnel, il est évident que le Café Chic ne respecte pas les normes fondamentales d’hospitalité et d’hygiène. The worst cocktails we ever had. We were a group of 8 and only 2 of them were drinkable-but with almost no alcohol. Everything else was extremely sour and tasted artificial. When we gave them our feedback they took it very unprofessionally (basically telling us WE don’t know how mezcal tastes, or that other groups like the cocktails etc) i.e it’s our fault we don’t like them, they did nothing wrong.
