We visited Kavod for our Mothers birthday, we came to Paris for 48 hours and Kavod was top of the list for Wednesday nights dinner.
The ambiance was really nice, we were greeted with a smile and shown to our table. Once seated we had to wait a little while to be served as there was only one English speaking waiter (which for a place that had a lot of English speaking customers I feel like there should be more then that). Once he did come to our table, he was amazing, very helpful, knew all the dishes, really guided us well through the menu.
The starters came, we got 6 starters between the 5 of us, The bone marrow was incredible, the beef carpaccio was beautiful too, the Tuna dish was also great, we got the chicken tacos, there was nice but felt a there was a few too many elements.
When the mains came, we got the duck, one of the steak options, the crying tiger steak and the lamb shoulder to share between 2. Both the steaks were amazing in particular the crying tiger, the best main that was ordered. The biggest and only disappointment was the lamb shoulder, we all felt that it was dry, you could see it was oven roasted which had caused it to dry out, the flavour was good but only let down was that it was dry.
Price wise, amazing, the bill for the 5 of us was great value for money.
Would I go back again? Absolutely, would I probably just order all the starters from the menu, probably too.
p.s. I started this as a 4 star which is what I believe it deserves but changed my mind as I got to the end of the review because I did enjoy it but going back again I would do...
Read moreFirst night we came an hour before opening in a taxi with our 6 month old baby, He walked up to us disturbed, stood in the door while we stood in the cold and told us he's full tonight. we said fine can we reserve for tomorrow, He said okay what time? we said nine, he said no i can't do nine, so we asked what time can we reserve? he answered I can only do seven thirty, we said fine well try to make it. next night we arrive at eight (by cab as fast as we could), with a smiling boy (not crying!!), three cuples were sitting in the empty restaurant. we stood acwardly as the owner looked at us as if he had no idea who we were. we told him we have a reservation, He looked at us shamefully as if we were late for class and said you haf one half an hour ago I gave away your table. without a word we began walking out, before we reached the door he said we could have the table by the door. ( if he had a table why shame us? I felt like it was a jerky way to get the couple with the baby out. if he has a problem with babies have an age limit!) we sat down feeling shamed for absolutely no reason. My husband and I looked at each other. I am a very lady like woman and never got up in a restaurant before, but as uncomfortable as it was to walk out after we just sat down, I felt more uncomfortable to continue sitting there. bottom line: Go to la citedle the food is probably just as great and the service was superb!! (they translated the full...
Read moreWe have been in many different kosher restaurants in Europe and yet this is, indeed, the worst!!! In fact, we have never had such awful and disgusting experience from a rude and unprofessional restaurant's owner. We won't forget this unpleasant experience! I can't imagine how this owner would treat customers if he were the only kosher restaurant in the city!!
The owner of this business needs to learn basic principles as how to treat customers and respect them!! He is absolutely obnoxious, arrogant, rude, unprofessional and liar.
The definition of the name KAVOD does not represent this restaurant because this is exactly the opposite as the attitude of the rude and arrogant owner certainly proves quite the opposite
Instead of wearing that kippah, this owner should go learn how to be a human and treat others as he wishes to be treated and also learn how to be respectful to people or at least to his customers!! Perhaps he uses kippah as a tool to run his business, but he can't fool Hashem!!!
The way this owner responds to each negative review and attack people aggressively speaks for itself. He blames each individual with negative review along with using adjectives that only represents himself instead of taking responsibility and feeling sorry for his own actions or trying to improve. Writing is already on the wall!! I can bet he will reply to this review in the same way!!! Hashem yet knows...
