Le Cèdre is a charming Lebanese restaurant in Paris that left a lasting impression during my two-week stay. I visited this gem four times, and it’s easy to see why—it’s all about the shawarma! The shawarma deserves a solid five stars. It’s flavorful, perfectly spiced, and undoubtedly the star of the menu. If you’re a fan of authentic Lebanese cuisine, this is an absolute must-try. The staff here are hardworking, kind, and generous. They truly know how to host and make you feel welcome, which adds so much to the overall experience. The tabbouleh was fresh and delicious, though the portion was a bit smaller than I anticipated. The kebbeh, however, fell slightly short of expectations—it could use some improvement to match the quality of their other dishes. One recommendation: make sure to ask for the doughnuts to be heated up—they’re good, but warming them really elevates the flavor. Overall, Le Cèdre is a delightful spot, with some dishes that shine brighter than others. But believe me, the shawarma alone makes it worth visiting. I’ll definitely return when I’m back in Paris!

I’m on a mission to eat at every shawarma stand in Paris. Le Cedre has been the best so far. Falafel was crunchy outside and fluffy inside — they came out hot and full of flavor. Chicken shawarma comes standard with only chicken, garlic sauce, pickles and French fries wrapped in the Arabic bread (my favorite preparation). You can request lettuce and tomatoes but at other places I usually ask to remove those items so the shawarma doesn’t get soggy. The grilled Chicken had the right amount of char, was tender with each bite and the shawarma itself had a nice balance of flavors. Staff was kind, courteous and efficient — probably spoke six languages between them. Highly recommended for authentic Lebanese in the 5th arr., right off the Place de la Contrescarpe.

BEST SHAWARMAS IN PARIS ! My wife and I were on a guided bike tour as part of our planned adventures while on vacation in Paris. A couple of hours into the bike ride our tour guide said we would take a 30 minute lunch break in this area known as the Latin Quarter. He also mentioned there were numerous eateries to choose from including a Lebanese place that made excellent shawarmas. YES PLEASE ! We parked our bikes and headed around the corner to find this place. BINGO ! There was a long line of people spilling out onto the sidewalk. VERY GOOD SIGN ! We joined the line which moved at lightning speed. Before we knew it we were placing our lunch order for 1 x Chicken Shawarma and 1 x Beef Shawarma...I added a couple things like Tabouli and soft cheese. All the ingredients we saw behind the glass looked as fresh as a daisy. We paid and within seconds were heading out the door with our treasured Shawarmas. There was not a seat in sight in the public dining island in the center of this intersection so we walked back to where our tour guide had locked up all our bikes. VERY DELICIOUS ! Best Shawarmas or doner kebabs we have enjoyed since our time in Australia over 17 years ago. And amazing value for $16...
