We popped in for a quick drink on the Champs-Élysées, with some family who had come to stay with us (also for a toilet stop!!)

A waiter showed us to our table and we sat there for longer than expected before another waiter took our order - at which point the initial waiter ran over and tried to take our order instead! So that felt a bit strange.

We ordered four glasses of wine between us (two Chardonnay and two Chablis and decided to do a ‘taste test’ between them - for info: not much in it).

The pours we were served seemed short! We received, at best, 120ml per serve for 9.5€ per glass (had been expecting the advertised 140ml). The wines weren’t very cold. The not-very-nice glasses also arrived with droplets of water all over them, inside and out, which didn’t help the taste of the wine (although the wine itself seem quite nice). It all seemed a bit sloppy compared to our other experiences in Paris… However as we were with our family we didn’t want to make a fuss, so did not mention anything to staff.

Our original waiter who had showed us to our table brought us the bill and asked us about leaving a tip - we have noticed that this has been becoming more common in the more touristy establishments over the last 18 months we’ve spent here in Paris! We think it is a bit cringy when they do this.

The upside of this place was that it was nice to sit on the Champs-Élysées and watch the vibrancy of life as it passed us by during our short time here! Also that the other three were able to pop to the toilet - as these are difficult to find on the Champs-Élysées!!

We felt that the value here was poor. Yes it’s the Champs-Élysées, but we’ve been to other touristy places in Paris and received nicer wine, better service and left feeling much more content than we did here.

I would not return here - but if I had to do so for some reason then I would choose wine by the bottle in order to be in control of the volume of wine received - as there should be less potential for short pours!

One more note! I noticed two Irish coffees go to a nearby table and wished I’d had one of those instead as they did look...

Worst meal we had in Paris. The only thing that is keeping this from being a one star review was the fact that our waiter gave us good service.

Food was mediocre. I ordered chicken curry with pasta substituted with rice and my girlfriend ordered a steak. I am a bodybuilder and need to count my macro intake so I know how large the portions are precisely. I was given about 200 grams of rice in a small bowl to go with my curry but that wasn't enough for me so I ordered two more bowls. These bowls were small, so I was expecting them to be proportionately priced. When the bill came, I saw that I was charged 7 euros for two bowls of rice! That's absurd even if this is on the Champs Elysees.

Furthermore, my girlfriend's steak was very hard to chew. It made me upset that she couldn't enjoy a proper meal. When I brought it up to the waiter, he had to call his manager. Now, if this happened in the US, the establishment should allow you to change the dish to something else of your liking. After all, you're unsatisfied with the dish because there's clearly something wrong with it. However, the manager blamed it on us. We ordered a medium rare steak and he claimed that this was too rare and that that caused the chewiness. I'm sorry but in what world does cooking a steak medium rare ruin the steak? We went along with him since he was persistent. He came back with a slightly more cooked steak, but it was even worse now. Obviously they had no intention on fixing the problem.

At this point we lost all hope in the establishment. We left half of the steak for them to dump. When the bill came, we saw that we were charged 7 euros for the rice and an absurd amount for water as well. Overall, not a...

After walking for hours, we just had to find a place to stop and rest. I read the reviews, set my expectations accordingly and went in. We knew we only wanted drinks so, we didn’t mind being seated inside at a small table. In fact, the sun was beating down on the front by this time of day so it was a blessing. We were hot! I felt for our waiter, he was hustling! He had very little help and a lot of tables and looked like he was run ragged. However, he was sweet and on top of our service. I had an iced coffee and my son had a non alcoholic pina colada. We also had still tap water. I am comfortable in France and know how to order tap vs bottled water. I see that being a sticking point in a lot of reviews because bottled water at tourist cafes can be expensive! Both of our drinks hit the spot and were reasonably priced for a tourist spot on the Champs Elysees in Paris. An iced coffee is not going to be 5€ in a place like this, yet shouldn’t be outrageous - and it wasn’t. The restrooms were clean and tidy. We rested a little while until we were ready to continue on our way. We were asked about a tip. In fact, this trip, I was asked at more places, more often about a tip in Paris than I ever have been before. I sadly think this is becoming more the norm than the exception. Tipping culture has kind of taken a hold, at least when you’re a tourist. I did leave a couple of Euro because I would normally leave 1-2€ for good service, or my bill rounded up at a cafe and the young man deserved it. Overall, it’s a tourist spot so also set your expectations accordingly. We would go back for another drink and potty...

Lovely environment and initially felt that it was a lovely service, however I noted that the service was superficial. Before we even finish our desserts, the staff brought forward the bill to get rid of us although there were other empty tables available. I was charged 70 euros to the card although the total bill was 58+. So I told him that the amount was wrong but he kept insisting me to sign on the receipt as though he didn’t understand English. In the end, he got fed up and took out 10 euro from his wallet and asked me to sign again. Anyway, My friend and I ordered a pizza to share but only 1 plate was offered due to the table space constraint. We occupied the table next to us to put our drinks so that we could have another plate and eat comfortably but the staff forced us back into the single table. This was despite a the area not being fully occupied by patrons. We haven’t finished the pretzels but he cleared without even asking. I give 3 stars because I thought the pizza was quite tasty. The tiramisu cake however, lacked the coffee taste. But being almost cheated like that made me not wanting to go back there again. So do not be deceived by how smiley they seem or the pleasantries/compliments they extend to you. Just observe how oblivious they are to your needs and how they will try to dupe you at billing time. Tips should be earned. Not through dishonest means.

Atmosphere is good. I would only recommend this place for drink. The drinks we ordered were good. However, Food experience was terrible. I ordered plain crème white pasta without any mushrooms and veggies. But as I started eating, found few salmon chunks. When we questioned the staff, they started arguing saying it is carrot as I shared with them I am vegetarian. My finance eats salmon and could differentiate easily. The whole point of ordering plain crème pasta was without anything be it carrot or salmon. I ended up returning the meal ofcourse. I would rate zero or negative for food hygiene. My faith is hurt but I thank god, I am not allergic else it would be a disaster. The serving staff was respectful but the head staff that came later to argue about the meal was very unprofessional & rude. He started yelling that we need discount bla bla, We were simply looking for some authenticity & credibility as I wasn’t served for what I ordered. I didn’t pay for this portion but left a generous tip for the serving staff. I only read the reviews after my experience, and saw some similar reviews on food hygiene and staff behaviour. Else would have opted some other place as for me it’s more about quality & experience.

Although this is a tourist trap as it’s located right next to the Arc de Triomphe on Champs Elysees street, they do provide good service and good food. As it’s convenient for most tourists who are visiting Arc de Triomphe that want to sample some french foods and don’t want to pay the prices from the cafe across the street, this is a good place to get most of classic French food such as lamb, escargots, boeuf bourguignon, pastas and french fries. We came for their breakfast. I had a satisfying chocolate drink and a delicious salmon crepe. Both of these are very French. I just regretted that I didn’t have a chance to have breakfast at Angelina Paris that has the world renown creamy hot chocolate. Maybe next time. My friend got their omelette and he was very satisfied with his meal. The prices were reasonable especially with the strong dollars. Our service Andre provided us very good service and showed us how to get to Chanel store for shopping duty.
