you can't even say that it was 'bad service,' it was much worse.
I brought a friend to this bar at 2:00am on a Saturday night, and there was maybe 5 others there. I live in the area and have been a few times before. My friend ordered quickly but I was still deciding, and the bartender with glasses told me I'd have to order something. I said I would, that I was just still deciding, and he argued that it's the point of a bar to order something, and I wouldn't be able to stay unless I ordered something. We hadn't even been there three minutes. I laughed thinking he was joking, and repeated that I was still looking over the menu and he responds, "well I'm going to stand here and watch you until you decide." And he did, he stood there and stared at me.
He purposely intimidated me for no reason. I am still in shock and very confused as to how he thought that was appropriate. No one should be treated like that, especially when i'm paying...
Read moreThis is not the first complaint about the rude and aggressive bouncer. We honestly didn’t know he was guarding the door as he was wearing casual attire and leaning against the wall like a customer who had stepped outside for some air. When we tried to enter, he shut the door in our face, blocked us with us arm, and condescendingly said, “Bon soir?,” as if we had intentionally offended him. When I tried to use my broken French to explain we didn’t know what was going on, he continued to talk down to us. This bar is full of Americans and he refused to speak English when we said we didn’t understand him.
The bartenders were nice, and the cocktails were great. The bar had a weird, American Wild Wild West theme where a stuffed beaver 🦫 (“Castor” in French) was the mascot and terrible, hillbilly music played on blast. We could have tolerated it, but the first person we encountered ruined it for us. We won’t be...
Read moreNicely decorated place but unfortunately I was made to feel unwelcome. I took my partner out for a special occasion and to buy her a drink, I do not drink (for family reasons) so I was given the ultimatum to order something as an entry price or to leave. The place was not full of people so i wasn't making the business lose money by just taking up a seat + I was a paying customer by purchasing a beverage for my partner... I guess it's just too flash for me and I couldn't afford it but it was a bit embarrassing to be visiting from Australia and to be made to feel so worthless when I had up until that point been so enamored with Paris. Cocktails are €14 Mocktails are €9 Nicely lit and pretty lamp shades Not wheelchair friendly Nice cold...
