Sephora — Local services in Paris

I had a remarkable experience at Sephora recently that I have to share. On my first night in Paris my son, his friend and I were locked out of the Airbnb I rented for the week, with everything we owned except a credit card and my phone in my pocket. The owner didn't have a back up key and was in the south of Italy on vacation. It was an incredibly stressful experience as all our medications, clothes, hair brush, passports, contacts, glasses, makeup - everything was behind that locked door. I had to rent a hotel but knew that the only way I was going to get through the next day or so was to get a little makeup and my hair done. For me, if I look ok, I feel better. So I googled the nearest Sephora and went in first thing the next morning to buy some product. I was greeted by their skin care expert Carla. After I explained what happened she sat me down and took charge. She gave me a wonder facial and redid my make up. Once she was done she asked their hair expert Vanessa if she could help - did she ever! She used her Dyson Airwrap; it was so beautiful when she finished. I bought some products that Carla recommended and love them! I am also considering the Dyson now after seeing how easy it was to use and the results it produced. Thank YOU both for making such a difference! You have no idea now much your kindness, generosity and expert hands helped me get through this...

The entire staff at 79 Blvd St Germain were great. But Carla was exceptional.

Carla is a Pro there and her advice has changed my skin. It’s only been 24 hours. I seriously look like I’ve had a facial and all she did was recommend a serum, an eye cream, a CC cream, a sunblock, and a lip plumper/conditioner. And how? She took the time to speak with me, listen carefully, examine my skin, and make recommendations that fit my lifestyle.

And Carla was patient and kind! Talking about skin, especially in your 40’s, is scary. It’s intense. And a kind person really helps ease that. And doing it in a second language?? (I still get nervous ordering food en français) But this was the best skin care shopping experience ever and a real highlight of my trip to Paris (and frankly, how many people can say that about a Sephora run?? Especially middle-aged women who visit Paris annually?)

This store has beautiful human beings working here. The airport lost my luggage and for 2 days in Paris on a work trip, I had nothing with me. The second evening I had an event I was to attend. Everyone helped me buy some basics to help me get back on my feet. Carla did an absolutely amazing job with my makeup- using benefit makeup which I never used but honestly really loved. She also did my hair and it was not an easy task. Curly girl hair is difficult to work with but the straightener they sell worked magic. Carla was beyond patient and was so willing to help.
