One of the worst and rudest dining experiences I’ve ever had.

On the menu, there was Beef Carpaccio (as a starter) and Veal Tartare (as a main, which comes with fries included). I mistakenly asked for “Beef Tartare” the one with the fries,(instead of calling it veal tartare) what I clearly meant was the Tartare with fries as a main. Instead, the waitress brought Beef Carpaccio (a starter) plus a separate order of fries. When I explained this wasn’t what I meant, she started arguing, raising her voice, and saying “Beef Tartare doesn’t exist, only Veal Tartare!” in the most aggressive and unprofessional way possible. I said i’m sorry it was a misunderstanding and she was rolling her eyes, muttering in French, and talking with her colleagues while giving us a bad look and brought the plates away. In the end even though she took back both the Carpaccio and the fries immediately (so obviously we never ate them), at the end of the meal the bill still included both items. When I politely asked for the mistake to be corrected, another waitress said it was “my fault” for ordering badly. So i explained and asked for it to be removed from the bill i said “sorry we misunderstood each other. I didn’t use the correct name, but I did say Tartare, so she also misheard. It was a mistake on both sides so there’s no need to be so rude.” Instead of resolving it, she started shouting at me, saying she didn’t have time “to argue with me over some fries,” rolling her eyes, my friend tried to explain as well and she shut her up saying she couldn’t know what i said cause she wasn’t there. She refused to answer me directly and kept speaking in French with her colleagues, mocking us in front of our faces. My friend, who speaks French, understood perfectly that they were insulting us. For such an expensive restaurant, this level of service is outrageous: arrogant, hostile, and downright dishonest. The food itself was nothing memorable, completely overshadowed by the staff’s appalling behavior. Stay away from this place — there are countless restaurants in the city with far better food and staff who actually treat their customers...

Thank you for a platform to give you my honest review. We are in Paris for our first time. My husband and I were looking forward to a very lovely evening with you. Upon entering, we were seated in an area where we were the only patrons and sat next door window that had another lovely couple directly on the other side of the window. We felt we were intruding on their time and they clearly felt we were intruding on theirs. We asked to be relocated. We then watched the hostess attempt to see the next five groups, and each one also asked we relocated as they were being offered would be perceived as the worst tables.

A waitress which was very welcoming quickly took our orders. Starters arrived, and this is when my disappointment set in again. I am attaching photos of the salad I was presented. In a restaurant of your caliber, I would think you would agree this is unacceptable. The waitress clearly saw the inedible lettuce and said nothing. Upon opening a bottle of wine, she did a very insincere checking of the bottle quickly to pour and never touch the bottle again. Having to attend our own bottle of wine and waters was a surprise. If fact the only time she came but was to clear.

My husband enjoyed his lamb while I found my meat to be very dry.

I am sure that this review does not bring joy this Monday morning, but with a caliber of your lovely restaurant and as a small business owner myself, I would want to know.

I am wanting to attach a photo of sad salad. Will...

This is my first google review- would never care to complain about a place but this restaurant was one of the worst i've ever experienced in terms of quality, food, and service. I feel compelled to say something to help others avoid our mistake.

We excitedly came to this spot after multiple friends recommended it. We began with apps which were great and anticipated our meal to be equally delicious. For our main course we ordered the truffle risotto & the steak for 2. I served myself a portion of the risotto and dug right in. Out of no where I feel a sharp pain in my back tooth- quickly i realized i had something sharp in my mouth...... it was a BLACK SCREW- literally should be in a tool box. I quickly spit it out and tried getting our waiters attention. After 10 minutes pass someone finally looks in our direction. He was extremely apologetic & kind.

We would've expected the manager to come over to apologize and smooth things over. Instead we get two free desserts which ended up being frozen solid and truly inedible. We still ended paying around 200 euros for a meal with a screw.

Horrible meal, horrible service- could not recommend less. Truly do waste your time or money. There are tons of hidden gems in the area- this is...

We came here because one of the members of our party wanted to have the quintessential 'French-cuisine' experience while we were in Paris - Chez Julien fits that bill. Located just off the Seine, it's oozing with classic French charm. My colleagues thought their entrees - the duck and the lamb - were both very delicious. The rest of my review is solely based on my perspective as a vegan. I inquired before we were seated if they could accommodate vegan dietary restrictions to which the hostess said 'yes, we have a risotto with truffles'. When I told her that I was allergic to mushrooms and truffles, she said they van do one with vegetables instead. After seated, our waiter told me that the risotto could not be made without truffles. Scouring the French language -only menu with Google translate, I was able to identify a few vegan sides that could be cobbled together for dinner. I received a plate of steamed veggies: broccoli, green beans and snap peas + a 'sprout' salad + a side of black rice. The veggies were fine. No additional flavor...just steamed. The salad only had rocket no actual sprouts. The black rice was a bit under cooked. This dining experience reinforced my perception that French cuisine is not adaptable to a vegan diet.
