Number of Guests: 2 Order: 1 Entrecote 1 Blanquette de veau 1 Divers boisson Total Cost: €42.30 Auto Gratuity: Yes - 20% Rating: 0/5

Was recommended by our Airbnb host to go to Chez Julien across the street, but it was closed for a private event.

Decided to head next door to Louis Philippe Cafe Restaurant, which was the first step towards a terrible decision. Do not let it’s charming appearance deceive you, avoid this place at all costs!

The entrecote (steak) was similar to boot leather of something that they would use to make dog food. The Blanquette de Veau (veal) must have been the toughest calf on the block, and the wine was similar to something you’d use to disinfect a countertop. Obviously pre-cooked and microwaved as the order was brought to the table in a matter of minutes and varied in temperature with each bite, the chef apparently isn’t aware the flavour exists.

Terrible food, terrible service, and terrible price. If you like subpar pub quality food disguised as french cuisine this is the place for you. Otherwise, literally anywhere else would be a...

A superb, classic Parisian cafe/brasserie with a lovely site adjacent to the Quai d'Orleans. Historic interior features a gorgeous wrought iron spiral staircase de l'epoque--Eiffel himself may have installed it! Impeccable service from polite welcome through our entire evening meal from an attentive, swift, and precise wait staff. Perfect preparations of French classic restaurant dishes including superb braised and oven-glazed leeks, a distinguished boeuf Bourguignon, super-fine steak tartare, and an array of perfectly prepared sea and shellfish with a notable scallop risotto. Always check the chalkboards for daily specials at lunch and dinner. Text there only in French so if you're just monophonic in some tongue other than French, bring your dictionaries or phone translation apps. Great bar here, too, with decent, tasty cocktails and all the best French aperos--good, very fairly priced wine list as well. In this riverine part of Paris? Then stop in for a hearty meal and polished service! You'll leave well served...

Was there for lunch with 4 friends and the waiter was really rude and didn’t want to be there. Not helpful with the questions about the menu or any desire to work. After ordering food, from the 4 of us only one dish was good, the rest tasteless. I ordered a “Fois Gras” that’s was not very good and when I explained to the waiter after eating half of it and asking my friends to taste too that didn’t taste much like Fois Gras , he replied that I have eaten half of it and he couldn’t change for anything else at the point: I told him that I was we not asking for that but would like to express my opinion and he was arrogant and condescending. When we went to pay I spoke to the lady at the cash register and explained what happened, not an apology but a comment saying that I did not know how to eat Fois Gras since I drank with a soda. I ordered wine with my meal and not soda. She was also rude and condescending. Not a good experience in this place at all. Don’t spend your...

Chic Cafés in Paris 💐

We came here for a nice night out, and ended up being one of the worst experiences I’ve had with Parisian food. We order our dishes. The onion soup was tasty, not great but okay. Then the main dishes came. My dish was something different from what I had ordered. When told the waiter and he stated “oh yes, but they are both chicken” (the dish they brought and what I had ordered were both chicken dishes BUT NOT THE SAME DISH). I kept it to be nice to him even though I was pissed at his response. The chicken was inedible, so dry I had to drink water after every bite. Flavorless. To my surprise when the check came, he charged me for the dish I originally ordered which was WAY more expensive and not for the dish they brought me instead. I realized after I left so I couldn’t say anything. I would never come back here, they just take advantage of tourists. Big no. Terrible service and terrible food.

The food was good but the service was terrible. There were 10 people in my party. Most of us only ordered a main dish but two of the party ordered an appetizer together with a main course. The waitress asked us whether we would want to have everything put in at the same time or just the appetizer first and the other main dishes. We were trying to accommodate the rest of the party so that the appetizers would come along the other main dish for the rest of the party. The food came accordingly however 15 minutes after the two persons finishing the appetizers, the waitress came and asked whether she should put in the order for the remaining two main dishes. We ended up waiting for an extra 30 minutes for the two main dishes to be delivered. No apologies were offered. For the kind of service , I definitely will not come back for the second time.
