The gentleman (Gabriel) running our "prestige" (80 euro pp) wine tasting was great. He was very personable and knowledgeable. I would go back for a glass of wine.
However, this tasting was a terrible value. Not because of the price, but because of the sense they were just trying to get rid of open bottles. The first wine we were to taste was a 2012 Vinetage Grand Cru Champagne. It was already opened and completely flat (no more bubbles). The guy leading the tasting realized this but instead of opening up another bottle of a vinetage grand cru, he brought out a basic champagne that was about half the price (and already opened). Why not open up something equivalent to what we were suppose to try? All the wines we tried (4 total) were from opened bottles that we got the "last bit of". None of the wines (other than one of the pinots) were remarkable. The last red, a syrah from Cotes du Rhone, was clearly opened too long as there was no longer any nose.
Save your money and do not do the tasting. Maybe get a glass of wine there in the...
Read moreWe visited this place to have one or two glasses of wines. When we entered a guy asked us what would we like. We clearly told just one glass of wine. He said it’s ok and guided us down to the basement where was a bar. He asked what is our style of wine we told a few things (but nothing very fancy expectations) and he ended up serving us the two most expensive wines from their list. Of course we felt at this point that this place a bit of a tourist trap.. During drinking our wines, the same guy came to us and told that his boss wants us to also eat something as we cannot just drink here. So we had to order a bowl of olives which were very sour and raw…. We found this also very rude as we were clear about our intention when we entered the bar and we were not hungry at all as we just had lunch before. The wines we tasted on purpose I don’t valuate because let’s say it is a matter of ppl’s taste… but their hospitality concept is...
Read moreWe had a wonderful visit to Divvino! We were getting a little hungry after a fun morning in the Marais, but it was 2:30 p.m. and most restaurants were closing. After a quick Google search, we found Divvino and walked right in. The staff were wonderful - they took us down to the wine cave and made us a delicious meat and cheese board (picture added). They also walked through some different wine options. We ended up getting two different types of red - both of which were also delicious! Since we were there at off hours on a random Tuesday, we had the wine cave to ourselves for most of our time there, which was absolutely amazing! It started to get a little full as we were leaving. We enjoyed it so much, we ended up buying a bottle to take home with us. Great spot and great service - highly recommend for your next trip to the...
