One of my worst nights ever. Friends wanted to go there but I wasnt sure. I followed them. Drinks were quite expensive for what they were. We danced a little bit on some bitchy and unoriginal music but sometimes that's good. They started to close. I had a ticket in my hand to get my jacket back but apparently they couldnt find it anymore. I waited until only one jacket remained, mine, but they couldnt just trust me on that. When they pulled my jacket out, I was asked which brand it was. It's a fake leather jacket I bought (at Zara apparently) years ago... so I couldnt remember the brand at the moment. The one guy holding the jacket started questionning the fact that it was mine. I said, with humor, "it really looks mine so it must be it" and he started an entire 20 minutes drama, saying he couldnt give it to me cause it didnt seem like I was sure. I kept telling it was mine, but he kept repeating my first remark. Almost the entire staff supported him, except for a guy who just took the jacket to give it to me because he was fed up of the whole scene. The rest of the staff (except for that one guy) literaly insulted me when I started to leave. I have to say my friends go there every week, and they were with me, but apparently that wasnt enough. They just wanted to mess with a client that night, and I was told they often do, cause they think that their position gives them customers without effort. Dont go to a place where anyone...
Read moreFavorite gay bar in the area! We tried as many others as we could just to be able to find the “right one”. They all had their own charm and highlights but we just found ourselves coming back to Freedj. Bartenders were super friendly, crowd was awesome and friendly, good music, drinks were reasonably cheap. It’s not a huge venue but it is a bar so shouldn’t expect much bigger. Loved it!!! Shout out to our Sunday Mass priests :) as previous reviews stated, the bouncer did exhibit extremely aggressive behavior as a gentleman tried to come in as they were closing. Bouncer did politely turn him away, but the guy came back, tried to forcefully come in, bouncer then kicked the guy in the chest and knocked him to the ground. Not sure what exactly was going on verbally on either end but it was a little shocking. Not enough to keep me away as I am not sure if the bouncer was being overly aggressive or being protective of the LGBTQ+ crowd inside by keeping the guy out whose intentions were unclear. Overall still...
Read moreIf you enjoy being insulted by a rude security guard, then please visit here. French is not my first language, however I am currently proficient at a B1 level. When I approached the entrance the guard asked in French, "Que voulez-vous ?" not " bienvenue" nor "bonsoir." Rude. Then he opens the door and I causally say, "Oh mon dieu, il y a beaucoup de gens ici." The security guard then proceeds to mock me by repeating what I said but in a condescending tone and vulgar facial gesture. Totally unnecessary. I'm a client entering your establishment and this is the treatment I receive as my first impression. No. I told off the security guard in clear French that, "La politesse est gratuite. Vos commentaires sont inutiles et impolis." I immediately left. I'm not patronizing a club that treats it's customer...
