I visit Paris 5–6 times a year, and while no one expects it to be cheap, I do expect at least decent service in return for the high prices charged. Unfortunately, this was not the case.
I was charged €27.50 for two gin & tonics — an outrageous price made worse by the fact that the tonic was charged separately without even being brought to the table in its bottle. When you itemize components like this, the least you can do is present the tonic properly.
The drinks were poorly made, and the service was equally disappointing. We were even asked to move mid-drink so the staff could clear the front row of terrace tables — apparently because they had exceeded their permitted space under city regulations. This lack of professionalism is unacceptable.
Bars and restaurants in Paris need to understand: tourists don’t owe you our money. We choose to spend it — and in return, we deserve to be treated with...
Read moreStaying locally, we came across Caffe Vito as we meandered, looking for a quick dinner, which would be suitable also for our 11 & 16 y/o boys! Hangriness had set in!
While browsing the menu outside, one of the waiters pleasantly chatted to us about the Olympics, Ireland and rugby! He was lovely, good humoured, and in no way pushy. Choice made.
The restaurant was extremely busy, but that didn’t take from a warm, friendly, and prompt service. The food was perfect - salad, spaghetti bolognese, tagliatelle with salmon, steak. Cooked perfectly, well presented, tasty, good portion sizes. Plates cleared. Attentive, non intrusive service, with chat, humour and a smile. As we would say back home, the waiters were sound and good craic! The menu is not extensive, but more than adequate, and very suitable for our needs as a family (our boys can be picky eaters!)
We will return, and we would highly...
Read moreCaffe Vito in Paris is a cozy spot that serves up some seriously tasty pizza. We recently gave it a try and were really impressed.
The pizza we had was delicious, and the prices were reasonable. It's a good deal for what you get, and it's enough for one person.
But what really makes the place stand out is the atmosphere. It's got this cool vibe that's perfect for just hanging out and people-watching. Whether you're catching up with friends or enjoying some alone time, it's a great place to chill.
We also tried their Apple Mojito, and wow, was it refreshing! It's the perfect drink to cool down with on a warm day.
Overall, Caffe Vito is definitely worth...
