I’m still in the midst of my trip to Paris but I just wanted to take a few minutes to review this delightful restaurant. This is my second trip to Paris and I think this has been my favorite French restaurant I’ve been to in France, and I’ve been to La Couronne. One of the other reviews on here was quite rude about it being “too French” without hamburgers and French fries. STAY HOME, DUDE. This was incredible food and lovely, friendly service. We started the meal with a glass of wine for mom and an orangina for me. For entrees my mom got a stewed leek with a raspberry vinaigrette and I got the pumpkin with burrata. Both so tasty and wonderful veggie dishes. Then my mom ordered the Caesar salad (we’ve been lacking veggies this trip) and I got the fregola risotto. Both SO good. I got the risotto at le Procope the other day and this out-shone it. So well-seasoned and the mushrooms were so earthy that I didn’t miss the meat. The Caesar salad was not what we think it is in the US, because it was a fried chicken breast that was seasoned with some sort of curry powder (vadouvan?) and the dressing was more like a ranch. A delicious and interesting spin. Then we split the dessert of the day, which was a chocolate creme brûlée. My mom and I started laughing with joy over how tasty it was. If it’s on the menu, GET IT. Garçon! does have some less familiar dishes for American tastes, like liver and heart, but many options for a less adventurous American...
Read moreFound this gem of a restaurant my first day back in Paris since 2019. I was on my way to the nearby Luxembourg Park. It was a delightful way to re-enter, with perfectly cooked asparagus and roe seasoned egg, arugula & thinly sliced radishes. The waiter was kind enough to inform me that the asparagus would be green, not white like it said on the menu. I so appreciate these details. The bread was also delicious and flavorful. The cappuccino was just right and complementary chocolate appreciated. Service was attentive, professional and very upbeat! I made a point of returning for dinner, and it was...
Read moreGreat food presentation, but my dish (pulp) was way too salty. Menue was not headed when we arrived and informed we are here for lunch. We had to wait and ask and wait... Not a kids friendly place. Waiter asked us to keep the kid quiet in front of other guests (absolutely not discretly and in a not very polite manner), though she was just talking in a usual kids voice (no screaming, no tantrum or similar). Probably OK for adults without kids, but we won't return there for sure- didn't like...
