I came for a beautiful experience which i was promised as per the reviews of other guests.

Unfortunately, i was not told since the beginning that i MUST order at certain minimum. I ordered wine, cheese plate, my partner ordered beef cheeks, planning on deserts too. If i was told that i HAVE to order entrée + plat, I would not have any problem with doing so. Although, i was not hungry, thats why my food choice was not extensive. But i was surprised to get a passive agressive treatment from the manager who appeared right after i gave my order, he came to shame for not ordering much, that should have ordered more, etc etc. I asked if he wants me to order - lets do that, it's not about the money. He gracefully turned down my offer to change my order leaving me with the feeling of guilt. After processing the situation, I did not feel like we are welcomed at all. I asked for a bill to pay for the wine and cancel the order. He came back again and that conversation did not end well at all - this made me cry. How can you make your clients feel like nothing even before getting to taste the food which everyone praises here? Thank you for generously taking the wine on you but it did ruin the evening. So thanks for that too.

And in the end, when i was crying and leaving, he asked me "which country you are from?" Like what the hell? Why does it matter in this situation? Is it about him being inclusive...

Excellent, creative, colourful and innovative restaurant in heart of St. Germain, rue du Cherche Midi. Michelin starred chef chose his own path and manages a totally new kind of French cuisine. Totally surprising amuse with lentils! Eggs mayo mimosa, autumnal roasted veggies with delicious sauce, fresh figs dessert, with excellent Auvergne red wine. Welcoming professional service, very pleasant, unusually colourful interior with simple wooden tables and lots of pillows. No musak, quiet so you can talk. Not for everyone, not for everyday, but for those gourmets who like to eat in peace and appreciate an innovative, balanced and taste focused...

I'm so glad the other places that were recommended by our friends were full, because we may never have found this absolute gem.

The food, the drinks, the wine pairing and ambience. Located on a beautiful street, that's active without being busy, like the wait staff.

The experience was chill and well coming while the food was executed to the highest standard, looking perfect and made with only seasonal ingredients from France.

oh.....and being Irish I'm always delighted to witness a new way to prepare potatoes.

I could tell you what I had, but this place is more about vibes and by the time you read this some of the stuff will be out of...

A great chef very accessible and nice. He came to every table at the beginning in the middle and at the end of our meal. He welcomes guests personally and explains his philosophy for this nice location. The food is made of locally selected providers mostly from Auvergne and Puy region. Lots of creativity is put in the plates. They taste very nice. There was a single misfortune that I want to note here, our server forgot part of our order and I had to ask again and wait about ten minutes while our meat was getting cold. Anyway the warmth of personal welcome of the chef Gagnaire makes you forget everything.

This is a neighbourhood gem that deserves a lot more recognition! Chef Gagnaire is exceptional in his craft and feels extremely approachable and genuine. I was pleasantly surprised when he greeted each and every client during the lunch service. The 3-course lunch is more than affordable, especially for Michelin star quality! Don’t both with an expensive bistrot and enjoy the terroir / ancestral produce and recipes with a twist. Highly recommend and will go back next time I’m in Paris.
