🇫🇷 Looking for a Long-Term Food Buddy in Paris (Includes Restaurant List)

Gluten free / sans gluten friendly Had a wonderful lunch here with my hubby and another couple. Small place that fills up. Reservations are a must. Just lovely dining areas. Our server was lovely and super informative on the wines we had. He took extra care of me due to my celiac. Did let the restaurant know on our reservation that one of us had a gluten allergy. They were amazing on letting me know what I can eat and that they had planned ahead for me ❤️ I had special items ready for me. Also items planned for me incase I wanted something that could not modified on the menu. Had the chicken on the menu and a special dish that they created for me instead of the soup I asked for. Soup had bread in it. I had a wonderful roasted tomato and herb sorbet. It was to die for. We will definitely be back here next time we are in Paris.

We made a reservation at this Michelin 1 star restaurant and thought it was quite good. The halibut was buttery perfection. The server described to us in great detail the complex cooking method to yield this level of tenderness. The eggplant entree was soft and yet had a meaty texture to it. Service was top grade at this small restaurant that seems to be a bigger lunch venue than dinner menu given its location in the 7th Androssiment

This place was confusingly bad. I have a hard time believing this experience was the same as the meal served to the Michelin reviewers that gave the restaurant a Star.

Aside from the amuse bouche, almost every dish had glaring issues. The raw scallop dish was decent, but they mangled the scallops when cutting them, which made for an unpleasant texture. Many of the dishes were oversalted, but ALL of them were unbalanced, muddy, and generally lacking in flavor.

The kitchen oddly served the same dish to my companions twice: once as a main course, and immediately afterwards as a side component of the veal dish (which was tough and full of inedible cartilage and unrendered fat). Very weird, especially because the kitchen could clearly see that they didn’t even enjoy the dish the first time it was served.

Dessert was the most surprising part. Even some of my worst high-end dining experiences ended with a decent dessert. But this monstrosity was like nothing I’ve ever experienced. It was literally a bowl full of unsweetened, vaguely orange-flavored gelatin with a dot of wine flavored ice cream and some orange tuiles on top. I don’t know what exactly they were trying to accomplish here, but how do you screw up a dessert this badly?

The wait staff were relatively friendly, and offered another dessert after he realized they went uneaten, but why would we torture ourselves anymore? This place obviously had nothing good to offer that night. Are the chefs even tasting the stuff they’re throwing together?

I’ve been to at least 15 different Star restaurants, but this was the only one that has ever been...

I went to Garance with my girlfriend for Dinner to celebrate her birthday. Due to corona times we had a private dinner with extremely nice service. We decided to go for the Garance Menu, which included 4 courses picked by the chef. Since today it was around 40°C in Paris, the chef seemed to adjust the menu as well. The dishes were definitely on the lighter side, containing fish and fresh-seasonal veggies. You can expect dishes with high quality ingredients (also check out their Instagram account). The focus was definitely on the ingredients itself, so nothing experimental going on (that's why I picked the restaurant in first place). Also, the wine and liquor offered was very good and delicious too. You'll find a wine/champagne card, but we ordered off the card asking for recommendations. I have to say that the price for the Dinner was reasonable in relation to the quantity and quality of the food (around 100€ p.P) - especially you can go crazy expensive here in Paris. We definitely will go to Garance again during our next trip to Paris. Highly recommend...

Bediening was zeer goed verzorgd.
