Everything looked pretty, savoury dishes were really good and innovative. But the pancakes were soo disappointing. Too dry and not fluffy. Not enough toppings/ syrup. Had to ask for extra syrup (2€) and whipped cream (1.5€) which made the 14.5€ pancakes - 18€ totally overpriced and not worth it. Would’ve preferred less pancakes, less thick and more toppings!
Also they have a very strict policy of having to wait the entire party is here to sit you - it makes sense when there’s a long line, but when I went in the morning there was no one and still they won’t let you in unless everyone’s here. That seems a bit ridiculous.
I also tried to go early to work there as I saw on their Instagram that they allow computers during non-meal times. But there’s no wifi, and terrible phone reception.😅 I asked for filtered coffee (as written on the menu on the wall) and they were out of it. So I ordered an allongée instead, but they took so long to make it, I decided to leave after learning there’s no wifi/reception. (and I came back later with friends for lunch).
There’s also a restaurant manager-looking person working on the counter, making calls in a stressful manner like she’s dealing with crises - not greeting customers, which put a damp on the mood and feel good vibes that LesParisdeLaura sells.
Overall, pretty disappointed and glad I tested it during the week and didn’t line up an hour for it. I’ve been to Immersion République twice and loved it so I hope this location will...
Read moreI use to hear stories of fellow American’s saying the French were rude but I had never experienced it in the five times I have visited until I went to Immersion in Vendome. Last week my husband and I went for breakfast. After at least 15 mins of sitting at the counter with no one stopping by I asked a waitress if we could order here (at the counter). She said yes. As she struggled to take the order – the woman to our left who may be the manager said – sorry she’s new. I wasn’t sure if the sorry was because nobody came to greet/serve us or that she had difficultly putting in the order. I totally understand and have no issues with her not being able to take our order but if the “manager” was sitting next to us the entire time surely she was aware that nobody came to greet us, bring us water, or ask if we needed anything. After placing the order, the barista seemed to make several comments about us in French as he looked our way and giggle continuously. And when my husband got up to pay the check – “giggles” felt the need to sit in his seat (see pic of barista seated next to me), next to me, to speak with the manager and another person. My husband had to reach around him to grab his back-pack which hung in front of the counter stool. The food was decent but the restaurant left a bad taste in my mouth. Thank goodness our other experiences were pleasant and we were not immersed in...
Read moreWe went there yesterday because a friend was visiting Paris and we wanted to take him to a “great-looking brunch” on his last day. After our terrible experience, we would not recommend it to anyone. We were 6, we stayed in line for 2h15, before leaving and going to another restaurant. The person at the door handling the queue was very incompetent. We kept asking her whether there would be a place for 6 people and she constantly reassured us that a table will be ready soon and told us not to leave. Alas, no table was ever ready (even though she did seat 5 people 15 mins after they had arrived, which makes no sense as we had been waiting for 2 hours and she could have just added a chair for us at the table). At some point, after seeing her take in so many groups that had just arrived, we asked her whether we could at least go in, split into two groups and sit on different tables. She said this was not possible (why?!) So to get this straight, she wouldn’t add a chair to a table, she couldn’t bring tables together for 6, and even when we told her we could sit on different tables, she refused. She could have at least saved us the time and told us from the start that there is no way to seat us and to leave instead of wasting our time saying “the table will be ready very soon, don’t leave”. We came with high expectations and left extremely disappointed, what a...
