The quintessential cozy restaurant serving up delightful and fresh seafood based meals. The fresh ingredients with the warmth from the staff made this a world class dining experience for an American foodie in the culinary rich nation of France. Many of the restaurants set the bar high with crowds, no patience for fumbling tourists and solo travelers but L'llot just knocks it out of the park with a French take on classics. Food: Grill fish was outstanding with a slightly mild curry sauce and no it's not the curry sauce you're thinking about. Make sure if you order this that you also order shot glass side of the sauce as its that good. The ceviche is inspired by the chef and the day so it's ever changing and guaranteed fresh. It's accompanied by freshly delivered bread and at this point if you're in France you know even the croissant at McDonald's is going to be your new favorite. Staff; Very friendly a fluent in multiple languages so try your best but they will work with you through the hard parts me. Drinks: Their wine menu is small by french standards it's only 2 pages. You're going to find something you like and honestly it was the very first one I sampled. Switched from a Pinot to a recommended Chardonnay and it was lovely. Portion size: The portion sizes are perfect with you either but full or having just enough room for dessert.

Read moreCan't recommend this restaurant. I understand bad luck happens and sometimes we get unwanted bugs on our dish. But an apology goes along way. What I can't tolerate is trying to convince me that it's normal and to be expected. More details.. We ordered the sea food platter. When I was eating an oyster, a live black bug felt from the oyster shell to my plate. I called an employee and showed him the bug (still alive and struggling with the lemon juice and sea water on my plate, was dead after 1min). He took the plate and came back saying the chef said it was normal and it was a small shrimp. It just happens that I know sea food very well and small shrimps are almost translucid and not completely black. The shape and the way it moved (when alive) was not of a shrimp. Then the manager (a bit rude) also tried to convince of the same and said all he could do was to offer a 10% discount. I told him I was not looking for a discount, I was looking for an apology so I walked back to the table. The manager came over very rudely took the platter away and dropped the bill on table. I have never experienced such a bad costumer service and I travel and eat out a lot. If you have any doubts that I'm not being fair, check my other reviews. I can usually find something positive to say even of places that are not great. Unfortunately, I don't have photos of the bug, just the bill and the empty space of the platter after the manager...
Read moreSimply Terrible. Do not go if you love seafood. Do go, if you don't care much about the seafood, but just wanted to enjoy the bar atmosphere. I read the Guardian article, featuring the best seafood restaurant in Paris, and thought this would be interesting. Only it turns out, not good experience. This is the first comment I ever write in google plus, I hope people see the reason why the reviews are important. We ordered a seafood platter (55 euros) and a couple of starters. Salmon egg was old, oyster was small and tasteless. The crab was stuffed with other meats, the prawn was not fresh. Even lemon was not fresh. The wine, they recommended was not good either. I really wanted to like this place, but only gave me a very expensive lesson of travel. Don't do too much of research, follow local's...
