Welcome back Entracte!
I came twice during my stay. The first time just for a drink, the second for dinner.
Different waiters each night and all friendly and attentive.
The food was great, although the vinaigrette of the salad served with the omelet could have done with a little more acid taste.
Glad to see your return to previous standards.
And by the way, a clever move to use your reply to my previous remarks for some marketing.
The best marketing however is to make customers happy.
And you did it!
See you again soon.
—————————————————————-
I came to l’Entracte the first time in 1991 and I have never been as disappointed as this time.
First I had to ask for the menu four times before I finally got it.
Although I asked in French, I was presented with the QR code that lead me to the German version.
When I said that I speak French, I finally got all the menus, but to be honest, I felt like leaving already.
I stayed because I consider l’Entract my only regular bar in the world. And I get around quite a lot.
I ordered a Pastis as aperitif.
Then an omelette with fries and salad and a carafe of Brouilly.
I used to love the omelette because the vinaigrette of the salad was a perfect match.
What I got.
A plate of olives and a glass of Pastis and an omelette with fries and salad.
All at the same time.
My omelette was getting cold, while I was rushing to drink my Pastis while I stuffed in the olives one by one.
The vinaigrette was hardly present and the salad was dead. I eat it, without enjoying it.
Two stars for the service because the waiter asked if he should wait to bring the wine.
Being German, I took some time to realize something else that was missing.
No bread.
I have decided to give the place another chance, because I have come here for more than 30 years.
So I will give it another try these coming days.
I will keep you guys posted, but in the meantime I cannot really recommend the place .
Update:
I have it another try and things habe returned to normal again.
Friendly service, fresh drinks, nice food.
Welcome back L’Entracte!

Read moreThis here was one of the nice surprises you just stumble upon when you don't check out reviews before. :) During a business + fun stay, this became quickly a bit the neighbourhood cafe/bistro to go to. One night, I had a started of avocado with grapefruit and shrimps salad, super fresh, nice, fruity. Plus a 'small' (it wasn't :)) cheese platter with amazing cheeses. 2 really solid wines to go with, one the recommendation of the really nice service lady (a Brouilly that indeed matched the cheeses very nicely). All in all a nice and relaxed experience for less than 30 €. On other days just check ins for a beer, or wine and cheese, always friendly service and nice atmosphere. Wine card is short but really well sorted. On other tables have noticed people from the neighbourhood to come there for the Tarte Tartin, or Clafoutis and happily dugging into it. Looked for me like those were good reasons to go there to, but need to check out myself...
Read moreNice place with a good atmosphere and tasty food. Came there without prior research. I just noticed it passing by (in fact, they are located close to the hotel where I stayed). An evening before I visited another restaurant which was in the very city centre and for some reason boasted quite positive reviews (higher than this one), but was completely dissapointed-the food was tasteless and the overall atmosphere was not so nice, the music was quite obtrusive, the servce was mediocre... that perhaps affected my expectations, but nevertheless, I must confess that the burger was really delicious and the staff was nice and friendly. Beer was so-so, but if you are up for beer, I guess you need to go to more specalised places or just go...
