Beyond bad service. Crazy staff. Terrible experience.
Ordered roasted Guinea fowl and a fish dish, and asked for cappuccinos first.
Two minutes later they brought out the fish, thé Guinea fowl and the cappuccinos.
The sauce for the fish was cold. The dish had clearly been just reheated. The fish not warm either. Thé pintade was warmer, not hot.
I asked the server for the bill, said I wanted to settle right now, he wanted to know why , I explained and he left.
Five minutes later the manager comes out, and demands to know what’s wrong. She says the fish can’t be cold, cause they just cooked the food for us. How can you cook a fish and roast a chicken in two minutes?!?!
I told her I need to pay and I wanted the bill no more waiting.
Another five minutes pass, no bill.
We just left.
The waiter screamed at us, he said the bill was coming in two minutes.
We walked. He ran after us a block, physically accosted me, and threatened to call the police.
He said we’d be good with just money for the drinks, I gave him ten Euros and he went back.
—To my dear friends who manage this forgettable bistouri: First ….. no wife. Second….I didn’t copy anyone’s review. Maybe you should have paid attention before you wrote. I spent more time on my review (five minutes) than you spent “roasting” the pintade and making the sauce and cooking the fish. Let me know if your microwave ever breaks. I’ll donate...
Read moreIt used to be a hidden gem tucked in a residential area of Paris. Situated within a walking distance from Le Jardin du Luxembourg. It was a family run business. The wife was the head chef. They had daily specials for lunch with limited options a la carte to include steaks and their most wonderful and huge salads. All their foods are excellent and with high quality ingredients. Their wines are also well selected. Homemade desserts are superb. The creme caramel is served « al la louche comme autrefois ». The tarts are also not to be missed. We’ve been going there for years and we always look forward to. Above all the positive and welcoming attitude. Highly recommended!
Update: As of Sept 5, 2023, the owners retired and the place has changed hands. Different feel and slight change in the type of food that is offered as plat du jour, lost the cuisine D’Auvergne and not just that the service and the quality. Disappointing experience not once but twice. Low quality food almost raw and the justification that their chef was ill/absent. A note to the greedy owners….Close the restaurant if no one knows how to cook rather than charging the customers for inedible food that was left on the plate.
There is nothing lower and more stupid than waiters knowing that they are wrong and yet they continue to lie to cover for their errors.
Unprofessional, terrible food and do not deserve...
Read moreI came out on a Wednesday night looking for a snack. I went to two places nearby. Unfortunately, things didn't work out at those and I left. I found this place around the corner. Little neighborhood joint, no frills.
What really stood out to me is the fact that tables outside are not sardines together like at a lot of bistros in Paris: you actually get space! 🚀🙏🏿😉
As you can tell, I had the beef tartare. They offer four different versions (including Thai and Italian). I had the traditional one. Solid 💪🏿🪨. Especially with a bit of Dijon mustard 😋😉. Watch out though, because theirs is 🔥: it's not for the weak.
My waiter, middle aged French guy with glasses 🕶️🤓, God bless his heart 😂, was classic Parisian: a bit standoffish, a bit sweet and caring. More so on the sweet side.
The table in front of me was playing chess. Another was having a political convo. Overall, a place with a...
