La Cantine Russe — Restaurant in Paris

I went there for lunch on a week day. The dining room located in a basement is badly decorated, cheep furniture (obviously bought from a failed Chinese restaurant), pale daylight coming from the basement windows... Small paper napkins and paper tablecloth... The set menu of the day only presents one choice of "Russian" food... All other options are obviously overpriced, that's the least one can say... As I came to eat a Russian meal, I took the beef stroganoff : a tiny bowl of overcooked meat slivers swimming in a tasteless juice, three salad sleeves and a handful of hard wheat... My friend took "Russian" meat ravioli which were tasteless as well, escorted by a microscopic cream saucer... For the dessert, no choice (despite a long printed list of them) and we were imposed a cottage cheese cake without interest... Two Russian beers (probably the only genuine part of the meal)... The waitress was cute, smiley and efficient but at 2:40, she asked us to clear the place... For the two of us, I paid 82€ for this feast... Definitely a...

I don’t post reviews very often, but we had such an amazing experience at this restaurant during our recent trip that I had to review. Unknowingly, we arrived near their closing time (maybe 30-40 minutes before), but they did not turn us away. We received a warm welcome from Katia and felt at home from the start. She gave us incredible service, made great recommendations for our drinks and meals, and answered all of our questions. If you’re a tourist, ask questions! Don’t just order chicken nuggets from the children’s menu. The Kir was very good, not too sweet. Whether you’ve tried escargot or not, I recommend you try it here; very good! We also had the kiev, mixte grille plate, and a ravioli type of dish, which were all very tasty. For dessert, Katia recommended the honey cake, which was delicious. We were walking around the city when I saw that there was still a russian restaurant in Paris.  Evendough without any shame...

Well, the menu was on the street. By curiosity we looked at what "russian cuisine" is.

It turned out that varenyki, borscht, Kyiv-style cutlets ... they called it Russian food, which is absolutely not... No wonder, their society was built on lies.

Here I will quote an excerpt:

I DO NOT RECOMMEND a restaurant that is lost in its own culture and instead offers visitors only an "amateur copy". This besides the fact that holding a russian restaurant or shop would put myself already under then ground from embarrasement and shame...

Гуляли по місту, коли побачила ,що в Парижі все ще існує рос. ресторан. Що ж ,меню було на вулиці , з цікавості подивилися, що ж таке "російська кухня".

Виявилося, що вареники ,борщ ,котлети по - Київські ...вони назвали російською їжею.

Ну не дивно, так і створено їх суспільство на брехні . Ось процитую витримку :

Розгляд українського досьє про національну страву відбувся сьогодні у Парижі під час позачергового засідання Комітету нематеріальної культурної спадщини UNESCO. На ньому і було ухвалено остаточне рішення про включення елементу «Культура приготування українського борщу» до Списку нематеріальної культурної спадщини UNESCO, що потребує термінової охорони. Це справді історична подія та чергова перемога України. Бо, як відомо, на визнання борщу претендували й інші країни. росія влаштувала справжню інформаційну битву за «исконно русское блюдо»."

НЕ РЕКОМЕНДУЮ ресторан,якмй загубився в власній культурі,а натомість пропонує відвідувачам лише " аматорську копію" . І враховуючи війну ,яку не вперше розпочала росія, ті звірства які продовжує робити ці нелюди - ганьба тримати ресторан з назвою цієї країни і таким чином просувати свою "...
