Definitely in the top 3 meals I've ever had taste and presentation wise. Unfortunately the service and atmosphere from the staff let it down. This was a very special, if not my most special, evening meal planned in my life. I had within a couple of hours just proposed to my other half to great success. I had preempted this by putting a message on my initial booking, and when a confirmation call for the reservation came through for the booking on the day I excitedly told the staff what the day was, her birthday, and engagement.
We wasn't very warmly welcomed by staff, told to wait a bit on the couch area to the right, then we were given menues. I asked if we could move tables to one with seats, and this was arranged without an issue.
We sat down and enjoyed a very tasty meal, all be it that our location was infront of the kitchen doors where staff were in and out. This didn't overly matter, but we had arrived before most of the other guests with plenty tables free. Presumably our booking wasn't as high up on the list, perhaps from me only booking the venue a few weeks back 🤷♂️, although when looking at the website you could book for the following day so maybe we were just unlucky.
In a state of euphoria we still had a lovely meal. But didn't receive any congratulations or any extra nicities. My girlfriend had her birthday badge on full display. Another table had a birthday and some form of something was brought out with sparklers, but this didn't happen to us.
We decided to go for a cigarette before deserts. While smoking it started raining, to get back to the front door we used a blanket which was on an outside seat to cover us, while laughing. The staff very grumpily took the blankets off us us and said they were not to be used like that, it felt like we were told off like children and there was no humour or smiling. It frustrated us that the welfare of a blanket seemed to be more important than paying guests.
At this point, we decided to skip deserts and get out as we didn't feel welcome. On paying, the waitor (who I will commend on their polite professionalism and knowledge of the menu) wished her happy birthday and we left.
I had saved up for this meal, and overall felt I should have gone somewhere else where we'd have been made to feel more special. In hindsight I can understand that you must have many engagement bookings, but for me, this was a once in a lift time which tell short. I shouldn't have been made to feel out of place there and left dissatisfied.
My girlfriend was trying her best to be positive, but she was visably less happy than she was before we came to the restaurant.
My only assumption for the lack of nicities is that my fiance was planely dressed in just jeans and a tshirt and didn't look the part to be in a posh restaurant. Unfortunately, as is the nature of a suprice engagment, she was just wearing normal day to day clothes. Maybe I'm over thinking here, but this is how we felt, that we were not important enough to receive any special service from the restaurant despite seeing it happen at other tables.
Again, the food was superb, compliments to the chef, but no compliments to eating the food in this establishment.
All we needed was a congratulations, a smile, or a sparkler at the very least.
The following night we went to a much more afordable Italian restaurant. Where we had a much nicer time. A free glass of prosecco and a warm welcome and congratulations - it isn't hard or a big cost. We left them with a nice tip, and we were happy.
I should have spent my saved...

If you’re a person of color, avoid this restaurant and all restaurants owned by the Paris Society group while you’re at it (CoCo which they own was recently busted for segregating all the people of color on a whole other floor).
I was there just recently after New Years with a party of 4 after making our reservation and the hostess didn’t let me finish ordering my cocktail and an appetizer and instead interrupted me to rudely ask “is that all you’re ordering? You’re not gonna order anything else? You know that’s an appetizer right?” Meanwhile she hadn’t even let the 3 other people I was with place their orders. I told her I was still looking (because I genuinely was??) but for now that was it and she told me that we needed to get up from our table and move to the bar instead because we weren’t allowed to sit down if we weren’t ordering food. I replied to her that we were in fact going to eat and not just drink but that she hadn’t even let the others I was with order their food! I also said that this rule was odd and was nowhere on their website and she lied that it was and that I had to select “dinner” or “drinks” to make a reservation. I have screenshots and screen grabs showing that she lied because that’s not even a function on their website. She then brought a server to our table who pretty much tried to school me about this new rule they had just made up, and that server was raising her voice. I told them that I wasn’t appreciating how they were making me feel like I was poor and couldn’t afford the food because that was genuinely their tone. Not only that, the “bar” they mentioned is hardly a bar, it’s their reception/welcome area where they take your coats with 2-3 stools. I was with two older adults and that wouldn’t have been comfortable for them either. I asked if we could sit in the lounge area then (even though we still would have been ordering main dishes) and she said no again. It was very clear that they just didn’t want us there and that it had to do with race/money. I was dressed chic casual but my guests were more on the casual side so I guess they assumed we had no money despite Paris being one of the priciest places to be in during NYE LOL. Regardless, even if people were pinching pennies to eat there and didn’t have much money, they deserve and have every right to be there too.
Spend your money elsewhere. Lots of great Parisian restaurants that don’t act so foolish. Hope the entire group gets closed since a public official recently asked for an investigation to be...
Read moreThey did not have the right time on the booking after we had confirmed the correct time twice. Although this was minor in the grand scheme of the evening, it was the first warning sign. On arrival, we were shown to our table that supposedly had views of the Eiffel Tower however, this was untrue, and you can't see the Eiffel Tower unless you are stood in front of the restaurant which was disappointing and falsely advertised.
Once seated, we were given bread whilst we looked through the menu. It was a good selection, but the prices were not worth it. The atmosphere was loud and busy, so we often found ourselves speaking loudly and repeating. When a waiter came to order our food (I did not get a name), he was rude, abrupt, and rushed us. Occasionally, rolling his eyes due to the fact we were not speaking French (which we could understand) and proceeded to laugh about this with his colleagues. Once we had ordered, another waiter whipped away our bread (which we were in the middle of eating) I was taking a bite and he quite literally, stole my plate) WE WERE APPALLED!
With this in mind, we were charged for two still waters (€8) - The second one we did not ask for as we had not finished our full glasses...but they still proceeded to pour the glasses all the way to the top. We felt extremely uncomfortable, and they would not listen to us when we asked them to stop.
We ordered the steak (which did not come with the €10 chips PP) and they offered us three sauces to choose from. When the food arrived, the steak was tough to cut. It was fatty and had no flavour. The sauce was chucked over the steak with absolutely no presentation. A tough steak on a plate and sauce. For €50, I can honestly say it was the worst meal I have experienced. The chips were overloaded, cold, burnt, and rock-hard. We did not eat.
Shocked by this, we decided to pay and leave immediately. We felt uncomfortable in front of the staff and were constantly watched, rushed, and made fun of.
DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY!...
