My girlfriend and I were really looking forward to dining at this restaurant after reading such glowing reviews, but unfortunately, our experience was nothing short of disappointing.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with indifference. The restaurant wasn’t busy at the time, yet we were left standing at the door for a considerable amount of time. Eventually, we were told to find a table outside, which we did promptly. However, as we waited, we observed staff warmly greeting and seating other customers—some even after us—and serving them drinks and food, while we were completely ignored. It was frustrating to watch others being attended to, while we, despite being polite and patient, were left to wait.

What really soured the experience was the feeling that we were being treated differently, perhaps because we were foreigners. We felt as though we were being overlooked intentionally, which was disappointing, especially given the restaurant's reputation for a welcoming atmosphere. It left us with the impression that the staff didn’t value all their guests equally.

We ultimately decided to leave before being served. It’s a shame, because we were genuinely excited to try the food. Unfortunately, we can’t recommend this place based on the way we were treated, and we won’t...

Unfortunately our visit to Les Marches fell short, and was not as good as the first time we ate at the restaurant, though would not completely write it off as it may have just been an off night.

Pros: They were very accommodating to us adding 2 more people on to our reservation at last minute, and us asking to sit outside. The servers were kind and fairly attentive as they could have been especially with it being busy, and they were knowledgable of the menu. Nice atmosphere, and wine list and the restaurant was busy with a good mix of tourists and locals.

Cons: 5 out of the 6 steaks we ordered were cooked to the incorrect temperature (either very over cooked, or very underdone). We ordered a second bottle of wine that never came, one of the sauces was incorrect, and we did not receive proper cutlery for the appetizers until we were nearly finished with them. The appetizer plates we got after being halfway through eating were wet, cold, and a bit dirty. We had a lovely server who was very apologetic due to the busy-ness of the restaurant, but maybe some of these mistakes would have been avoided if she wrote down our orders or checked in after we...

Overall would highly recommend Les Marches. Fantastic atmosphere, great food, good choices and felt like a truly French/Parisien experience. The only downside was we were there on a Saturday night and it was incredibly busy which meant the staff were stretched very thin- not their fault but meant a few things took away from our experience. When we arrived and asked for our table we requested a table outside and were asked to wait a few minutes. Having done so we were then told we could only be seated inside as the remaining outside tables were all for 4. Service staff were really professional and attentive when with us but we were never provided with bread (by the time we realised this it was almost impossible to get anyone’s attention), we had to ask for salad after our mains came without, and my steak was very overcooked (they were really nice about taking it back and providing a new one). Wouldn’t hesitate to go back but would go at a...

It's for good reason this is a popular address and so booking is essential if you want a table. With quintessential French classics, checkered tablecloths without it being touristy, it has a wonderful ambience, service is swift and friendly, and the food fabulous. I've been a few times and since updated my review since last time. When it comes to really good fish and chips, I'm Scottish and hard to please - but they do it brilliantly à la française with French frites rather than thick chips - great to dip in the most incredible homemade tartare sauce. Updated: The last time I was there, however, had Boeuf Bourguignon which didn't have the best cut (was unlucky) but a great value vin de Bourgogne much appreciated around our table with friends! Tarte Tatin good but lacked crispiness in the pastry. That said, for easy-going fare, this is superb value, good portions, super ambience and simply good food.

Lively bistro with delicious traditional french food. The bread and jelly served together with the Fois Gras is delicious. The pepper steak was also very tasty. The rum baba for desert was also really good (and strong!). We would not have come here because of the mixed reviews, but a local was adamant that this was the place to eat and made a reservation for us. They were not wrong, surprisingly for the location, we were the only tourists there and the food was better than any of the other french restaurants we visited in Paris. The bistro has a lively atmosphere and the staff made our evening a lot of fun. Come here if you are ready to practice your french skills, and make sure to make a reservation!

On a short trip from London, I was looking for the perfect French experience for the family - authentic, convivial, good atmosphere, great food and super friendly, helpful service. Les Marches was perfect. Think red and white check tablecloths, old signs on the wall, great wines and traditional food done well. Also to note, 20 seconds walk out the restaurant and you are on the river bank opposite the Eiffel Tower and with a tremendous view - especially impressive when lit up and sparkling on the hour each evening. The service was really very friendly too, though I do try and engage in French - not sure if that helps are hinders. Not too formal, not too touristy. Just right. Recommend.
