La Dauphine — Restaurant in Paris

Can't recommend. We've decided to order entrecote de boeuf. The meat was rather bland in taste, quite firm (we asked for medium/medium rare) and had lot of not eatable pieces. Maybe half of the cut was acceptable to eat. The portion size was ok, rather on larger side. The worst part is that they charge you 6 euro per 50 cl water! No other place in Paris charged us for water, so how would you call it if not a scam?! Also waiter openly asked us if he can add 10% service to the bill. There was kind of communication problem and I felt like it was obligatory payment. Waiter kept pointing on the bill with TVA tax - maybe just wanted to show the quote he wanted to add or maybe it was the method to kind of extort the tip. Never happened to me before in Paris. All in all, can't recommend if you have any alternative. The visit really spoiled our mood....

Had a late, late lunch here around 4 PM. Food was fabulous. Had one of the Plats du Jour-the roasted salmon with risotto - as well as the lamb shank. Both excellent. Finished with a chocolate fondant that was divine. The Cote du Rhône was also good - light and easy drinking. Ambience was lovely, with a warm Parisian glow. Service was OK - waiters seemed busy and were a bit brusque initially. They warmed up after a while and were quite charming. Food came out pretty fast, probably because there was hardly anyone in the restaurant that late in the afternoon. Prices were reasonable, given the quality of the food and the setting. Will definitely return on...

First of...our waiter was super attentive, friendly and funny...Yes Hervé I always have a smile on my face (unlike Parisiens have). And this joke only Hervé understands...everybody else can be offended🤣 Food wise, everything was great. We each had a burger. One withbeef and one with chicken. Both were good. Minor point was that the beefburger was a bit more done than medium but...it tasted great. We really felt welcome amongst all the fancy people in ties and scarves. Hervé made us feel right at home. In a few days we'll be back in Paris after visiting Marseille and visiting La Dauphine again is definately on our agenda, before going back to...
