We traveled to France for one evening for my birthday. Looking for a nice and cozy spot for birthday dinner I saw this restaurant which was very good rated and had a small and familiar touch, which I like to support. So we reserved a seat and walked there. The server didn’t had a table ready yet so he told us, that he is going to clean it right away. The used glasses and napkins from the other people then stood between us for around 20 minutes. I tried in the mean time to pick a meal and drinks in the hope, that when he serves our drinks, he will get rid of the old ones. There have been no menu or drink cards on the table so I got some from the bar by myself. We picked two cocktails. It took like another 25 minutes (another local group of people came later than us and already got their drinks) until the server came to get our order. Even after ordering the service guy didn’t took the old glasses and napkins away, I needed to ask him once more if he can remove them. My boyfriend already got a little mad but I tried to ignore all of the bad start because I didn’t wanted to ruin my birthday dinner. We wasn’t given any kind of menu card so we tried to figure out the menu online in the meantime. The server came back and told my boyfriend that his choice of drink is out but he will bring us a wine to make up for that. He didn’t asked for or offered other options to my boyfriend. As well he forgot what my drink choice was and asked again. Finally my „caipirinha“ came, which was looking completely different then a caipirinha looks and what the group got after ordering the same. It was a small glass (the group had the normal big caipirinha glasses), no brown sugar and instead of green lemons and herbs there was just yellow citrones in it. I asked him if he got me the wrong one. He said he will bring me a new one and brought me the same one again and told me, that he was out of the ingredients. But still no wine that was promised to make up for the inconveniences or no other choice of drink for my boyfriend asked, so we just ordered a easy to make whiskey coke. It came a small glass with a little bit of whiskey and a few minutes later the coke on the side. He asked later if we want ice, but we declined that to make it easier on him. When he finally got our orders after around 35 minutes we figured out, that the menu online was not the one, which was offered in the restaurant. I decided then for a starter and me and my boyfriend ordered the main menu. The server asked us if we want the starter the same time or before. I told him before would be good. Then I asked for my menu if they can leave out the olives, he said that this is no problem, my boyfriend summarized that on the end as well. My boyfriend ordered a T-bone steak in medium well. The server told us, that the menu comes with sides and explained the different options. We picked normal fries for my boyfriend and potatoes for me. After another 20 minutes the menu came. The starter was not there, but I got olives in my meal. I didn’t wanted to risk waiting any longer to start eating so I picked them out by myself. My boyfriend got his T-bone steak (angus) for 26€, which turned out competely bloody even though he ordered medium well. He still wanted to eat it not to create any more wait. Then he tried cutting it. Literally 90% of the steak have been fat and not been able to even cut it. He was not even able to chew on it. So he just put his plate to the side and told the server that this is not what he expected for that price and he can’t even cut it. The server just looked at it and said: oh yeah, okay, I am sorry. We waited another 10 minutes until I got up from my chair to ask for the sides (potatoes and fries), which should have come on the side of the main menu. The server said, that they are done and he brings them now. 15 minutes later he asked if everything is okay, I told him, that we still didn’t get the sides. But now that we already finished the meal, he doesn’t need to bring them anymore( Part 2...
Read moreWe stumbled upon this French restaurant by chance, and what a delightful surprise it was! From the moment we walked in, we were warmly welcomed by the lone waiter, who, despite managing all the tables on his own, was incredibly professional and friendly. His attention to detail and kindness really added to our experience
The meal was simply amazing. We started with two appetizers: rillettes and terrine. We loved the option to share these dishes as a family, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Even though we're Irish, we absolutely fell in love with these authentic French flavors
As for the main courses, both the parents and the young adults were equally impressed. The tagine was beautifully aromatic, with perfectly balanced flavors and excellent cooking. The ribs were unbelievably tender, falling off the bone effortlessly, and with an excellent sauce. Every dish we tried was outstanding, prepared with great care and passion i think !!
Whether you're with friends or family, this is the perfect spot to enjoy authentic cuisine, all complemented by impeccable service, even when the waiter is handling the whole room on his own. Hats off to them, and thank you for an...
Read moreWe booked to go for 1930 and it was just as well as when people arrived they were told they were fully booked. Not that it seemed that way to us. The menu is updated daily on a blackboard, no direct English translation. Mix of offering, all prepared and cooked fresh to order, so expect to wait. We were told the speciality burger would take 15 minutes, but still came out before one of the other supposed quicker mains. Burger large and tasty, the other dish seemed small in comparison. You have to choose either French fries or salad, they will not do 50/50 or you pay extra for the other side. We then waited for an age before being asked if we wanted pudding, despite the menu having more than one choice, we were told there was only one available and it would take 15 minutes to prepare. We therefore requested the bill only to still be waiting 20 minutes later. €19 for a very nice burger leave it to you to decide if...
