We visited La Grape D’or late at night, hoping for a nice spot to relax, and while it wasn’t the best dining experience, it was overall decent.
The service was excellent – the waiter was very polite, helpful, and attentive, which we really appreciated. The food, however, was just okay. My boyfriend ordered the ribeye, which was fine, while I went with the butcher’s daily suggestion, a beef steak with salad and a very intense pepper sauce. The sauce was a bit overpowering for my taste, and I feel it could have been balanced better – perhaps something for the chef to consider.
For dessert, we tried the apple tart (Tarte Tartain) and the soufflé with ice cream. Unfortunately, both desserts were underwhelming – I’ve definitely had better elsewhere.
The atmosphere and service were great, but the food left us wanting more. It’s an okay choice if you’re in the area and want a late-night spot, but it might not be the most memorable...
Read moreAugust in paris is dramatic the best places are closed for holidays, we decided to have dinner here just because is open. The waitress is unpolite, neither interested to attract clients nor to keep them. We have to ask a knife more than once, he took us a bottle of water without glasses. We struggled to ask glasses, he replied "oh, sorry I forgot, but of course water bottle is our house speciality". When we asked more bread he almost barked "two minutes and I arrived", we had to go to ask to the kitchen after 20 minutes of no reply. Food is average, too expensive and the portions are definitive small. At least the toilet is clean, the only point were...
Read moreOne of the worst restaurants I’ve eaten in and definitely one of the worst in France. Menu was limited; on the plus side the snails were reasonable with good garlic butter and the burgers were cooked well. However, the vegetarian lasagne was luke warm with raw carrots on top and stir fry aubergine underneath a very thick and chewy slice of pasta and the chicken stir fry was a mush of boiled aubergine, carrot and onion with some very small pieces of dry and tasteless chicken. The wine list was ordinary, the service was basic at best, shocking at worst and a 10% tip was demanded at the end, presumably because they were aware they weren’t going to get...
