Disappointing dining experience for our last night in Paris. Every other restaurant we went to had pleasant wait staff, but our waiter obviously wasn’t interested in serving us because we didn’t speak French. He completely ignored us when we first arrived and proceeded to serve the couple seated next to us. Their wine, first course and bread arrived before he bothered to take our order. The filet mignon was overcooked and dry. When he took our plates and asked why I didn’t finish the meal, I mentioned that it was quite dry, and he just shrugged his shoulders and acted like I didn’t know what I was talking about. To top it all off, he overcharged us for the meal and had to correct the bill. It was only 2 euros, so it could have been an honest mistake, but it seemed like he was trying to get a little bit extra out of us. Read moreLa Grivoiserie was our first stop during our inaugural time in Paris— we were famished after a long m, delayed flight and were on the early end of their dinner service (by early I mean 7PM on the dot).
It’s a quiet spot with a carefully prepared menu, which seems to change regularly according to other reviews.
English is welcome, but we looked up everything beforehand. We enjoyed their rosé; the burrata with watermelon, strawberry, herbs, and radish. The lamb was perfectly cooked; seasoned deliciously! The filet mignon we were happily surprised by— it’s pork! We were told that when ordering, with a fun lesson on the history of certain pork v. beef cuts in France.
Both my husband and I left full, happy, and grateful for a kind, delicious, stunning meal for our intro to the...
Read moreAn amazing modern French restaurant that feels like your dining in your friend’s home. No seriously it’s tiny, but so delicious. The front of house staff (one server) is so friendly and helpful. This isn’t a place that you come to for a quick bite as when the restaurant is busy there are other tables that are also in need of attention. But no problem! It’s fun to hang out and enjoy the space. The menu is very small lending itself well to seasonality, and the fact that there is only one chef manning the kitchen. The dishes are thoughtful and unique, bridging the gap well from traditional to modern. My girlfriend and I also enjoyed some great wines by the glass and we were very happy with the suggestions from our server. All and all a really great...
