I had high expectations when we chose going to this restaurant after shopping, given its iconic location in the heart of The Bon Marché, but unfortunately, it did not live up to the hype. The service, in particular, was quite disappointing.
While placing our order, our server, was more focused on chatting with a neighboring table than paying attention to us. He didn’t even make eye contact during our interaction. To make matters worse, he was forgetful and unresponsive. We had to repeatedly ask for water, which eventually arrived after a long wait, and the coffee we ordered was completely forgotten.
The server mentioned we wouldn’t be charged for the coffee due to the long delay, which we appreciated. However, when we received the bill, the coffee was still listed. When we pointed this out, he insisted it couldn’t be removed from the bill, despite what he had promised earlier. While paying for the coffee wasn’t an issue for us, it’s the principle of making a promise and not following through that left a bad impression.
Overall, the service was mediocre, especially for a restaurant in such a renowned location. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and makes the necessary...
Read moreWORST SERVICE EVER!!!! DONT GO THERE DURING BRUNCH TIME. My friend and i visited la table on Dec 28th to have a brunch. At that time the palce was not busy at all and A WOMAN WITH BANG HAIR worked only. At the entrance, i told in English "two people please" but the woman with bang hair spoke back in French as if it is okay of us to sit anywhere. (Still now i dont understand why she spoke back in french. Her face seems so bored but i never minded) So i sat down. From that moment she was So RUDE for us. She put menu and foods as if she play tennis balls. I hope the plate were broken because she put it on the table so uncarefully. I could feel she ignored us.
I wish i knew her name so i can write her name on. I think she has some personal issue or something. I dont blame other staffs of la table because without her the overrall staffs seems to be fine. (After 12pm, other staffs started to work and their service seems so nice)
I love bon marche and paris. But i wont go to la table because of her. I think she'd better find another job except restaurant server. If you are a...
Read moreOut of all the restaurants we visited during our 2 weeks in paris, this was the only place where we felt unwelcomed. As others have said, service was slow and rude, but our server was also racist.
The table next to us was seated 5 mins after we were, however, they were native French speakers and their orders were taken first. Subsequently , they received their food first while we were delayed significantly- they received their bills before we received our mains despite ordering the same dishes!
When we asked to expedite , we were ignored. We noticed our server was similarly ignoring other tables who were visible minorities, one of which really laid into her in French.
This is was an expensive meal, even if service was good, not worth the EUR 80 spent on two. 100% do not recommend- goto the bakery on the ground floor, grab two...
