Do you remember that, a few days ago, I was talking about what to bring when you're invited❓ That day I had brought a fruit tart. For another diner at my aunt's we chose to buy dessert from Ladurée. We could have bought macarons but we chose to buy "individual" Napoleons to share. Why? Well, Napoleon has been my favorite cake forever and I know that my aunt is not a big fan of Ladurée's macarons. And TBH, neither am I. Actually, I'm not a fan of macarons in general. I find them expensive, which can be justified by how difficult it is to bake them, small and not super tasty, yet very sweet. 🫤 I'm pretty sure everybody knows what Napoleon is but for those who don't, a Napoleon, or Mille-feuille, is made of 3 layers of pâte feuilletée (puff pastry) and 2 layers of pastry cream, usually covered by a layer of sugar, often icing with a marble effect. 😋 There are all kinds of Napoleons and Napoleon almost always is ok but sometimes it's great. It's just hard to find the great ones. Now when you find a great one, that's just amazing, spectacular, stunning. And when it's great, it doesn't need any icing on the top. And I must say Ladurée's Napoleon was a great one. Not the best one I've had but definitely a great one. 👏 Of course, that was not cheap. I don't remember the exact price but I'd say €10 piece (❗) But every once in a while... 😇 Icing was not necessary in that case, of course, but... I told you before that Napoleon already was my fav when I was a kid. And you know which part I liked the most: the icing. So I kinda missed icing on this one, as I miss it every time it's not there... 😅 Don't worry we still tried the macarons when we picked up the cakes at the shop. And we also tried their Eugenie cookies (which was kinda new at the time). Honestly, not worth spending more than €3 for a very small cookie that tasted pretty random. 👎 . . . Quality & taste: 7/10 Quantities: 7/10 Atmosphere: n/a Originality: 7/10 Ratio price / quality: 7/10 Service: n/a How I felt...

I used to love Ladurée, but after the big conglomerate took over from the original French owners, everything has gone downhill. First of all, the food has significantly declined. One example is the Benedict dish, which used to be divine, but now it comes without salmon and is served with a tiny cup of hollandaise sauce—barely enough to moisten the dry, tasteless bun with just a poached egg on top. It’s now a completely bland and useless dish. The same goes for the French toast, which used to have a special sauce that gave it a unique flavor. Now it’s just a dry, soggy mess that barely resembles the dish I once loved.

The service is another big disappointment. Previously, they’d help you with your coat and offer a more personal touch. Now, guests are left to sit with their jackets at the table, and the staff doesn’t seem to care much about the experience anymore. There’s also a disturbing lack of professionalism when serving drinks—staff will hand you a glass, touching the rim with their hands, which is completely unacceptable.

Overall, the place has lost its charm and is no longer worth the hype, long queues, or the high prices. The only positive note was that despite being late, they seated us without making a fuss. Another downside: no one in the restaurant speaks English, which makes it hard to communicate for non-French speakers. This place used to be exceptional, but now it’s just a shadow of its...

The service is awful. The manager was horrible with me. I was with a baby in the bathroom trying to changing him, without the usual charging table, that you can find in any good restaurant. Someone tried to open the door many times, he also tried and the door was still blocked, he never knocked on the door to check if there was someone inside, they just kept trying to open the door. If the door is bloxked the first it will be still blocked the second time. . When I went to ask him he treated me awfully, he was disrespectful and he started to mansplained me. He yelled at me and started to made fun of me, gesturing with his hands in front of my face. The lack of respect of this man to costumers is disgusting. I asked him for his name to make a complain and he refused, he told me I have no name, instead of descaled things, he just kept going. He was arrogant and rude, he didn’t show any interest in what I was saying. I cannot believe he is in charge of a restaurant, you don’t treat your costumers like that, don’t scaled things when someone is complaining about your attitude. To be honest all the servers there are unfriendly and rude. I didn’t feel welcomed at all.

I’m so disappointed, the service was bad and then this happen. Horrible experience.

This place doesn’t worth your time, super overrated. There are many better places in...
