It’s unbelievable how many negative reviews this store has, yet there’s still no improvement in customer service whatsoever.
First of all, We already complained to the manager, but he didn’t seem to care at all. Honestly, we don’t know if we were treated this way because we were Asian — but it’s hard not to wonder, because we saw them treating White customers with noticeably more respect and friendliness.
After buying quite a few Longchamp bags in Germany and being very satisfied with the price and quality (affordable and durable), I wanted to purchase another one. Without checking the reviews, I went to the nearest store.
There are two shops located opposite each other. For first-time visitors, there’s no way to know which one to enter. I went into one and asked about the model I was looking for. The first saleslady told me (with a bit of attitude) that nylon models are only available in the other shop — this one only sells leather. So I crossed over.
The staff there welcomed me and said the model I was looking for was upstairs. I went up, found the color I wanted, picked up the bag to try it on — and then suddenly a staff member walked up and scolded me: “You cannot touch anything in this store without my permission.” She told me to only look at the samples and let her know what color I wanted (with a really bad attitude).
I apologized, and she didn’t even say “It’s okay” — just told me to look at the samples, which were in limited colors and didn’t include the one I wanted. I already had a specific model and color in mind but couldn’t remember the exact name — something like “deep brown,” as mentioned by a staff member in Germany. She repeatedly said there was no such color, even though it was clearly the one I picked up earlier.
I had to walk across the room just to point it out, while the staff stood at her spot and shouted across the room the entire time. Zero effort to assist customers. If they want to be seen as a luxury brand, this is definitely not the way to treat customers.
Eventually, she told me it was “dark brown.” I understand if I got the name slightly wrong, but isn’t it the staff’s job to help and guide customers — not shame them or show attitude? This is basic customer service.

The store was busy on Saturday afternoon, but from the moment I entered, I was welcomed, and the sales associate provided me with all the information I needed to easily navigate the store. After a few minutes of waiting, Harshali K. (I will not share her full name) welcomed me again in the Le Pliage goods area. She was simply amazing; first, she introduced herself, then answered all my questions 😊. She showed me all the products, and we had an interesting conversation about Longchamp’s history, products, and the store — she has great knowledge.
Since I spent some time in the store, I received an offer for a drink—which is always nice! I also received an offer to print my initials on the purchased bag — again, a very kind gesture 😊.
This amazing experience is hard to describe in words. I believe Longchamp products will last forever, but in this case, it is not just about the product; what is much more valuable is the person, Harshali. My sales associate’s name is Jack Zheng. I was later surprised to hear he has been here only for month so far. He was so kind and patient. It was hard for me to make choices between sizes and colors but he was all time just so understanding and patient. He was very knowledgeable about the brand and all the products too.
