Le Burgundy is merely a horrible three-star hotel masquerading as a five-star by piggybacking off it’s location and the one Michelin star restaurant located in their tiny hotel. During our stay we had multiple staff open our door and enter our room directly without knocking or seeking permission while we were in the room. After the second time it happened on our first evening there right after checking in, my partner spoke to the Director of Operations, Massimo, who promised that this would not be reoccurring during our stay again. The next day, it happened again while we even had the DND on. After that, we had a meeting with the General Manager, the most unhospitable GM I have ever met in my entire life while traveling the world. He kept arguing with us and pointed his fingers in my face, even though all the issues we were facing were due to his mismanagement. After he was done arguing, he informed us that he had fired the staff who kept repeatedly entering our room uninvited and asked me what I wanted to make my stay better, I asked for one simple thing, which was that the staff do not enter until they are given verbal permission. This was to be done by actually knocking, waiting, being given approval and then entering or by giving us a call before knocking when the DND was on. Basic request you’d think, but no, after this man made the world’s easiest promise it was once again broken (no surprise here) and this time another staff, entered the room as if I was staying at her house! No knock, nothing! So I am of course done with the meetings at this point, I go downstairs and inform the front desk to call Mr Loic General Manager himself and the staff started arguing back like no I will not call him, I said yes you will because he is the one managing this hotel and he promised me this would never happen again. The front desk staff began aggressively arguing with me in a foreign language we both speak (Arabic). They called the chef as he was the MOD at that time and for the first time, I met one reasonable employee during my entire stay at Le Burgundy. The MOD was so stunned and embarrassed at this reoccurrence he could barely even speak but at least his face seemed apologetic. Anyway, we checked out the next day and after multiple promises that Loic and Massimo would reach out to at least apologize for being so incompetent at the jobs they are getting paid for, I am happy to report that it has been 10 days and we haven’t heard from anyone at Le Burgundy (again, no surprise there). To make matters worse, this is my second time staying here in one year and I had recommended it to many people. But after this invasion of my privacy, lack of respect and responsibility from the hotel’s staff and management I am never ever going to stay there again. Shout out to Axell the conceirge though, he was brilliant and great at his job. But yeah, Le Brugundy,...
Read moreOur recent stay at l’apartement was extraordinary! We loved everything about the hotel! The rooms were beautifully appointed...excellent attention to every detail! Loved the daily restocking of the toiletries; the linens felt luxurious; appreciated modernity and Art Deco coming together. Loved the Swiss shower, the jacuzzi, the black slippers, the espresso machine, the generous refilling of the bottled water, the yummy treats offered occasionally at turn down service. We totally wanted to take advantage of opening the bottle of champagne offered by your management as a “thank you” especially since it was my husband’s 60th birthday, but since it wasn’t purchased as “duty free” we couldn’t take it with us on the flight. What a pity!
Otherwise, everyone one on your staff was super accommodating, professional and friendly! Special thanks go out to Emilion who was super sweet and tried to accommodate all of our wishes. My son was super happy about drinking hot chocolate every morning; my daughter enjoyed her chocolate croissants; my husband loved his double espressos and I was so grateful for the elegance of each and every Breakfast experience I had at your beautiful hotel. Emilion also stood out for us when we missed our breakfast on the second day thinking that it closed at 11am when in fact it closed at 10:30am. Emilion went out of his way to set us up in the adjacent room to the restaurant with continental breakfast which was all we needed! We were truly grateful for his quick action and for being so ready to make us happy. On January 1st, it was my husband's 60th birthday which was the reason for this glorious trip! This was my present to him. I inquired the day before in how we can make him feel special and I was given an option of having a chocolate inscribed with birthday wishes. He was pleasantly surprised when he saw the chocolate brought up to him with the burning candles. It was very special and we are so appreciative!
I also want to give special thanks to Thibaut as he gave us many good restaurant recommendations and tried making reservations for us at the last minute multitude of times. He was very kind, sweet, accommodating, patient and truly professional! Kudos to Thibaut! Olga and Anne were also always professional and eager to help. Anis, the night shift front desk attendant was especially helpful when I told him that I left my phone at the restaurant. He called for me and gave me all the information I needed to have my phone back. If I have forgotten someone it’s because I don’t know their names but truly this was a standout vacation! A real treat for all of us which we will cherish for the rest of our lives! Thank you sooo much for making it so super special for us in every way! I will always highly recommend you to others seeking special stay in...
Read moreHorrible attitude, with xenophobic touches!
We have just left the Le Burgundy Hotel. We had a disagreement about the hotel policy related to children. On the hotel’s website it says that children until 11 can stay for free when using existing beds. A lot of times our daughter sleeps with us in the same bed as she is still tiny these days. The general conditions from Le Burgundy do not specify any exceptions. Check the screenshot. But when we arrived with our 8 years old daughter, they forced us to make an upgrade to a room that was double the price. The first question when entering the hotel was if our daughter is ours or not. No greetings, no hello. This happened Sunday evening. Elena was the reception employee at the time. Most of the discussion with her was blunt and I did not see any empathy and solution oriented approach from her. Our daughter was present and got a little scarred from hearing the discussion. She got the impression that she is not allowed into the hotel. The most rude reservation manager came into play the day after. Jessica Cucci is her name. When we have explained our issue we had the surprise of being shouted at and even invited to visit other countries if we think the hotels’ policies related to children in France are not ok. The discussion went on for a few good minutes. During most of the time Jessica’s attitude was the same. I have a problem understanding how such a person can work in a 5 star hotel or in hospitality services. We have decided to leave and ask for our money back for the rest of the stay. In my opinion this hotel policy is a scam for forcing people to get bigger rooms. It is practiced throughout Paris at least. We have been in many other countries and never had a problem to sleep with our daughter in the same bed. In Paris you end up getting 2 rooms or a much more expensive room to solve this so called security issue. In the room that was given to us for the night that we have spent at Le Burgundy, the children’s bed was put in a different room, close to some stairs (about 2 meters) and next to a glass table. How stupid is that, if they are really interested in security? A child aged somewhere between 2 and 7 or more wakes up overnight sometimes. Those stairs would be a real trap for sure. In the end I need to advise people to stay away from this hotel if they have children or to be aware of the things mentioned above. Unless you like the risk of talking with incompetent, arrogant and aggressive employees. Our holiday was partially ruined, but we are bouncing back to...
