One of the worst meals and dining experiences I've had at a restaurant in general. Would not recommend to anyone.
Food - Got the assorted dimsum and noodles. I've had better dimsum I've made at home by re-heating frozen dimsum. Extremely overpriced 14 euros. The noodles had an OK texture but it was a small bowl and not very filling at all. It was like paying 12 euros for pasta with butter and I would not get it again. What I had was tasty but it was very over-priced for what it was.
I also got a cup of tea, which I thought would be well done. It wasn't very strong nor flavourful and again, I've made better tea at home, with leaves from the grocery store.
Service - They only have digital menus in french. I asked the waiter for a paper menu, in english for my friend and he said none was available. Pretty bad accessibility for anyone who doesn't have a phone or if they have run out of data for the month. The tone was a bit racist as well since he mentioned that we can translate it into Chinese which was weird bc we were speaking in English for the whole meal so I don't know why he assumed we needed a Chinese menu.
Atmosphere - OK atmosphere and music but the chairs were either low to the ground stools or high bar stools and none of them had a back. Very uncomfortable.
The only good thing is that it opens early at 6PM so if you're hungry and desperate for a meal, this is the...
Read moreBe careful - they add meat to dishes that are (apparently, according to the menu) meat -free without warning. And then try to blame it on you.
I am a vegetarian and I'm pretty confident in my reading skills. I ordered a Lo Mei Fan (riz gluant, feuille de lotus, champignons shitake et cacahuètes) as it was one of two seemingly meatless options on the menu. To my surprise, once I started eating I noticed the dish had pieces of chicken in it. I was disappointed and frustrated thinking I made a mistake when ordering, but after triple checking the menu I confirmed it was their mistake. The waiter was completely useless and tried to justify that it's "clearly" not vegetarian (no idea how I was supposed to know). The cashier tried to argue and blame it on me, saying I should have said I am vegetarian. I would if there were no vegetarian options on the menu, but since it CLEARLY listed "all" the ingredients present in the dish I assumed I wouldn't have to worry about surprise chicken pieces. What if I had some sort of allergy or any other issue? I am extremely disappointed in the staff and in the experience we had. They could have at least pretended to be sorry and apologized for their mistake, but that never happened.
I cannot recommend this...
Read moreWe happened to pass by the place on our way to lunch and was attracted by the fusion look. Entering the restaurant, I recognized immediately the chef from Yam’Tcha and her husband, so decided to change our destination. Today is Sunday so we had the brunch menu. The starters were brioche, served in two versions: the Cantonese version (polo bao) with caramel and fruit confit dips, and a la française with cheese and bellota ham. The brioche went very well with caramel even though after a few bites it became slightly too sweet for me. Then I had clams porridge, paired with roast winter vegetables. The taste of the porridge is authentic Chinese but somehow lacked character. The vegetables were tasty thanks to its sauce which embodied the idea of fusion. The next dish was pork belly sandwich. The pork was very well cooked and had a nice proportion of fat and lean meat. Dessert was sticky rice pudding paired with yuzu and grenadine.
Overall, the price/quality of the dishes slightly missed my expectation but am willing to come back for the cozy environment and...
