Lavinia — Restaurant in Paris

My wife and I looked up this place while in Paris because we were in search of a specific bottle of Eminente Rum, and their website said this shop carried it. When we arrived, we were greeted in French, and we politely said we didn’t speak French. The man responded in English as if he was burdened by the fact we didn’t speak French. I asked for the rum. He pointed me right to it, then we proceeded to look across the store.

I also asked for a recommendation of a wine to take as a gift, with a max price point of 100€. He showed us some bottles, but his demeanor again was one of being bothered. We expressed our gratitude for his help a number of times, as we realize that a language barrier could be challenging.

When we went to check out, I asked him if we could get the tax paperwork since the purchase was over 100€. He said the purchase had to be over 200€ to qualify. This seemed odd as we were encouraged during various other purchases we made to make sure we request the paperwork so we could get a tax refund, being that our purchase was over 100€. We got back to our lodging, and looked it up. Looks like we were correct, and it seems these guys just didn’t want to go through the hassle of doing the paperwork. It’s unfortunate that these guys couldn’t be bothered, as there was NO ONE else in the store. Wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone...

Had a very frustrating experience shopping at Lavinia. I purchased 3 bottles of champagne on their website, fully paid for them and chose the option to pick them up at the store. The day after, at around 6pm, I went to the store to pick my order up, only to be told that I couldn't, because it wasn't ready yet. I was having this conversation with the sales person in front of at least 12 of the same champagne bottles that I had purchased. When I told him I didn't need special packaging and that he could just put them in a bag, he answered that I should have waited for an email telling me the order was ready for pick up (something that isn't even informed in the confirmation email for the order). In short, I was told I could not pick up the products that I had already purchased and paid for and that were available for sale to any other person that walked into the shop. I needed the bottles for the weekend and I won't be able to go back to the store until next week, so thank you very much Lavinia, for your most unhelpful...

Excellent wine store, absolutely well design Excellent stuff very professional 👏🍷👍 you will find what you looking for it inside. At the first floor nice restaurant to eat. Highly recommend that place.😉🌞🇫🇷:-)
