This was, without exaggeration, the worst dining experience I have ever had in my entire life. I wouldn’t serve this food to my dog, and I genuinely mean that.
We were a group of 12 people, and not a single one of us ate more than two bites. By the end, we all felt nauseous, disgusted, and honestly a bit shaken by how unbelievably bad everything was.
Here’s a summary of the nightmare we paid for: • There were literal stones inside the escargot. Yes. Stones. I almost cracked a tooth. • The waiters were sneezing into their hands and then continuing to serve food like it was the most normal thing in the world. • The eggs in the sandwich were green. GREEN. I don’t know if that’s mold, rot, or a new biohazard strain, but it was horrifying. • The beer tasted moldy, like it had been sitting open in a damp basement for six months. • We were denied the Happy Hour deal we asked for and ordered under. They pretended it didn’t exist. • The service was unpleasant and weirdly intimidating. The staff were walking around in puffer vests, looking like some kind of mini-mafia running a side hustle in the back. The vibe was hostile. • Every single person left feeling sick and disgusted. Not just disappointed — physically ill.
This place should genuinely be inspected, because something is extremely wrong here. The food wasn’t just bad, it felt unsafe.
Do not eat here. Do not bring family, friends, coworkers, strangers, or anyone you remotely care about. Save your stomach, your sanity, and your money.
This was the worst purchase I have ever...
Read moreReally awful service; wish I could give this place a minus star. We were given a French menu and an English menu, however the "Specials of the Day" were only in French. Since we were given an English menu as well, we asked whether the waiter could explain what the Specials were (expecting at worst, some broken english), but the waiter just shrugged with a smug look on his face and kept saying something like "English... No no no... Hmmph... No."
We get that the French can be a bit like that, but this was simply unacceptable. We were polite and spoke French as much as we could; we weren't being unreasonable at all.
It really got to me at the end, when we were paying the bill. The waiter came back with our change, threw the coins around his tray making a really loud noise (as if he was really angry and was so busy to be doing the task he was doing) and pretty much threw the change at our face.
If the food was amazing, I'd understand. I probably wouldn't be here writing this. But the food was so average; below average. My boyfriend got a croc monsieur with soggy bread and I got a beef tartare that was pretty expensive for what it was. I wish I had read the reviews before coming here! Total waste of...
Read moreI don't even know where to begin, I wish I could give it a minus. We walked in and no waiter came to take our order for over 15 minutes, only when we decided to leave did one notice us and assured us he will take care of us. After giving us the menus he disappeared, we had to wait again for a long time but he didn't came back, I actually had to get up and walk up to one of the waiters and ask him to take our order. When he took our order he didn't write it down, so of course instead of the salmon, we were served some ugly looking dry escalops. I asked him to bring us what we actually ordered, and to my surprise he brought it in less than 10 minutes. At the first glance the salmon looked good, nicely plated, but the thing was so undercooked that it was like eating sushi, the mashed potato was more like a porridge, it was impossible to eat it with a fork. The prices are way too high for the quality of the food and the service. The next day we went to a restaurant like right across the street from LA BASTILLE and the prices were 40% less, food was better and service was better. Please avoid this place, I have never been to a...
