DANGER!!! Dear tourists, beware of this place! PLEASE READ!! I came there with my son to have a quick lunch. The outside of this place looked a bit tired but empty table near the window was inviting. My son went to wash his hands and I took the menu, that's when I had my first concern - menu looked so dirty, it was on cheap cracked laminated sheet. The price was also strange - €5 euros for the portion of fries, £10 for onion soup - it's a lot even for Paris. I dined in Paris in great places and they were all cheaper! After my son came back I gave him a menu to read and went to wash my hands. On my way I saw a table been served food and dishes looked not appetizing- just what you expect in the cheapest bistro next to petrol station, not in Central Paris. So I returned to table and said to my son that I don't want to dine here and we got ready to leave. At this point I was confronted by suddenly rude waitress who DEMANDED to pay €2 euro per person for the use of the toilet! I did tell her that I wash hands and was intended to eat but change my mind. To my surprise she started shouting. To avoid conflict I gave her €2 as a compromise because I wasn't aware of that charge. She was properly screaming at me and I went towards the exit. It this point waiter came to me and started shouting too. I did offer him my last change €1 but he didn't accept it and was absolutely vicious - he was gesturing right in front of my face and HIT ME. He was shouting, he locked the door and didn't let me leave. My child was absolutely TERRIFIED. At the end he took the last coin and he was calling me names and said many nasty things about my look and my clothes. I regret not calling POLICE. This is the most terrible and HUMILIATING experience in my life. My son was crying in fear and sadness. Few other customers after seeing the scene left the place because it was terribly unpleasant situation. Dear tourists, respect yourselves, walk extra 50 meters - there are few lovely restaurants literally round the corner. Don't risk your mood/health and DO...

Tourist Trap - Horrible please don’t go to that place !!!! The food is frozen not home made it is a typical tourist trap !!! Snails are not good ( you can’t buy the same in the supermarket and put it in your oven) oignon soup horrible with lots of disgusting cheese on top ! ( it’s looks like American fast food not French sophisticated food) - mussels with wine were overcooked really dry impossible to taste anything - the wine was not served in front of us and it did not taste as it should taste - the staff forced us to try their restaurant it was agressif approach - we did not eat everything because it was not good and did not drink the wine - waste really - they did not do a customer gesture - the staff was rude ( but not Parisian rude just rude because they did not like their job ) bad atmosphere - no smile / no warm Welcome - but to get us in their restaurant and to give them money they had a smile etc … please escape it was a bad experience from the service atmosphere to the food !!!! And overpriced 40 euro for that is defo not worth it you can get much better than that...

This was the first restraunt I dined in during my stay in Paris and it started my trip off horrible. Service was absolutely TERRIBLE. I've never met staff so rude in my life. I have many dietary restrictions due to heath problems and we had a card that had everything translated to French on it. I order one of there Pastas and it was DISGUSTING. My mom, brother and other people at the table tried it and we all felt sick. (I think something in it may have been expired) We told the waiter very nicely that the pasta does not taste right (but we were very polite about doing so) he was very unprofessional and he started screaming at us that we were wrong and its good. He told me “there is no way to mess up pasta with cheese and you are wrong!” But to be honest I didn't know you could mess up pasta either till I stepped foot in this restaurant!! 😅 He made my family feel very uncomfortable even after we had been very considerate and translated everything to communicate with him. Prices were outrages for the disgusting food we received and it ruined my first...

Unlike many of the diner reviewers for this eatery, I have only good things to say. We, 3 in number, entered on our own accord, on a wet afternoon and were instantly seated at a window seat, great for people watching. We ordered traditional French dishes, I had the Formula; Onion soup, Beef Bourguignon and three cheese plate. Also ordered were a Croque Madame and a Croque au Poulet. All were totally edible and the table Red equally drinkable. Service was typically local, leisurely and pleasant. The doorman did turn up whilst we were eating and provided our entertainment as we joked with the staff about his antics. Not all tourists were tempted in as neither were all locals put off. You get what you get. Sometimes good, sometimes not so. We thought this place and the experience we got from it was good.

We had an amazing dinner at St. Jacques in Paris, just a short walk from Notre Dame. The atmosphere was charming, and the menu was fantastic. We ordered duck confit, escargot, mussels, a bottle of wine, and sparkling water—all for only 79 euros, which is exceptional value, especially in central Paris! The food was delicious, perfectly prepared, and beautifully presented. The duck confit was tender and flavorful, the escargot rich and garlicky, and the mussels fresh and perfectly cooked. The staff was friendly, attentive, and made us feel welcome throughout our meal. If we’re ever back in Paris, St. Jacques will be on our list again. Highly recommend for a memorable and authentic Parisian dining experience!

If you are looking for a place to eat, this is not the right spot to enjoy food. Probably, the restaurant is always full as it is located in a touristic area, but their attention to taste and quality of food is definitely low. They got a star because they were kind. A second star because I was looking for a place to watch. World Cup match and they had the tv. I got what I needed. But food is not good. Prices are not high but certainly not worthy the quality of food you get. And finally, the location is not well maintained, specially the toilet has extremely poor maintenance. Tartare meat was not properly cut, pieces of 3-4 centimeters) and it was full of nerves.
