I enjoyed two meals here while visiting Paris. The cocktails are generously sized, and the menu has a lot of good options. I like that the menu is focused, rather than having a billion options and doing nothing well.
The first time I visited I had a St. Germain Spritz, a charcuterie and cheese plate, and the lime cheesecake. The charcuterie and cheese plate was huge and could have fed 3 people (I took a lot home), and it had a nice variety of quality meats and cheeses. And, the lime cheesecake is one of the best desserts I’ve had recently! It’s tart and creamy, like key lime pie but even better.
The second time I had the Éléphant Rose spritz (yes, I like spritzes 🤣), and the rose liqueur was delicious and well balanced. I had a warmed goat cheese salad, which was simple, comforting, and delicious. I had crème brûlée for dessert and they browned it perfectly. I found both meals much better than the average brasserie.
I really enjoyed the ambience—it’s a pretty spot with a classic look, and I like the little moon lamps they put out.
The service was excellent. All of the servers are really friendly, and they speak English well. Occasionally it takes a little while to get service outside, but that happens everywhere in Paris.
The first time I visited, I randomly mentioned that I had had an awful day, and the staff went out of their way to make sure I had a nice time there. I really appreciate their excellent...
Read moreI don't know really where to start. I checked out several of my options in the area and thought I could do well here for a hot breakfast. The waiter decided to make it difficult for the American by asking for my Green Pass or proof of vaccination. Instead of saying something like green pass or vaccination in french which I could have understood, he mumbled something and then proceeded to get frustrated that he couldn't articulate in french something that simple. We finally got over that hurdle and I asked for a coffee. Getting a menu then became a hassle and when I got that, he never came back. Seems he didn't want anything to do with the American whose french is forty years old and barely understandable. When I went to check out since I wasn't going to get served, thankfully the 'concierge'? waived the minimum since he realized he had a very angry American who just wanted a hot breakfast and took my card instead of cash. 5.90 euro for a small...
Read moreStandard tourist trap restaurant which is unfortunate. Stopped by for some lunch and had the risotto, beef tartare and pesto pasta. The service and food was not great in all honesty. The beef was very poor quality for the price but was alright, the pesto pasta was awful but the risotto was good. We spoke to the manager about the pasta as we couldn’t eat it (al dente is in understatement, no seasoning at all, they’d watered down the pesto so it all just sat at the bottom of the plate), safe to say he was very rude and said “that how they choose to make it here”.. anyways I’d suggest you avoid this place as it’s not worth spending money on food you can barely eat. The waiter who served us was very lovely though (only reason I didn’t give this place 1 star), he looked super stressed and you can tell he deals with complaints a lot as he was quite defeated with the managers comments and apologised...
